Zip Folder Icon

I uninstalled winrar and then on zip folders the icon didnt show

now I installed winrar again and it still wont show, it comes up as



so does anyone know how to get the icon back?

 

unless you have it set as 'do not show extension of known files', it looks like you need to put it as 'file.rar'....

or it could be corrupt....

edit: also, go to tools->folder options - file types and see if it's associated with any program...

 

right click the icon and change the picture for the icon. Browse to the winrar folder and use the icon picture in the folder

theres nothing wrong with the folder, everything is fine

its just that the icon doesnt show up

 

oh, ok. did you restart since you did it? that might clear it up...

 

yeah, I restarted but its still the same

Is winrar accociated with rar files. you have to tick them in installion. Maybe you unticked it.

I ticked it. It works, I just want the icon

is there like a dll file for the icon or something?

 

is there a folder on my hard drive where the icons are saved?

 

*cough* now that this is up again *cough*

just re-install winrar.. that should fix up everything...

 

Try reinstalling, it should clear most stuff up

That is what has happend to my winrar files to, the icon will not come up any more
