"Heavy metal (often referred to simply as metal) is a genre of rock music[1] that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in England and the United States.[2] With roots in blues-rock and psychedelic rock, the bands that created heavy metal developed a thick, massive sound, characterized by highly amplified distortion, extended guitar solos, emphatic beats, and overall loudness. Heavy metal lyrics and performance styles are generally associated with machismo and masculine sexuality" It was brought in the 60s by blues singers and rock. The best part is most modern music wouldn't have been around without the original blues and slave music. Zeppelin, Sabbath, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, etc. are all fathers of modern metal in today's society, most of which were derived from blues and jazz background (judas was one of the first metal artists to take a step away from the blues portion of the music genre to create a better metal sound). "Originally formed as a heavy blues-rock band named Earth, the band began incorporating occult- and horror-inspired lyrics with tuned-down guitars, changing their name to Black Sabbath and releasing multiple gold and platinum records in the 1970s."
You do realize the beatles were considered part of the blues-rock genre and that they were an inspiration to Black Sabbath, yes? You realize that nearly every current metal band in the current world was inspired by Black Sabbath or a band whom was inspired by Black Sabbath (or down the line somewhere someone was inspired by Black Sabbath)? Sorry, Beatles were founding fathers of the beginning metal genre band (Sabbath) which contributed to the now heavy metal genre we have today. Then again, modern rock and metal also wouldn't exist without black people. Funny how they started something so great and ended up going so wrong.
You're generalizing an entire genre's influence on a single band. Oh, and the Beatles are just poppy rock.
They still fail. Just because millions of people like them doesn't mean I do. Thus why they fail in my books. Not fail for their status or however many trillions of dollar they've made but fail because, in my honest opinion, I don't like them. That saves Broken from posting.
