Yellowcard-Lights and Sounds The Album Yellowcard have recently released their latest album Lights and Sounds, it was due for original release in Fall 2005 but was delayed for unknown reasons. There's a special edition version with a DVD where you can see them playing live and producing the album but I couldn't find it in HMV. This album is a lot heavier but also features some acoustic songs, I think they’re trying to push their sound into new directions but not forgetting their old style and from what I’m hearing it’s awesome. Artwork: Songs Three Flights Up: A short instrumental track with pianos and violins, great build up to Lights and Sounds. Lights and Sounds: Their first single off the new album is hard hitting and shows Yellowcard still have their unique sound, it was also featured on Burnout: Revenge, back in September. Down On My Head: Slow start with a catchy guitar riff but a great chorus, everything you expect from Yellowcard. Sure Thing Falling: Awesome guitar in this. City Of Devils: Their first acoustic song off the new album and is very peaceful with harmonic violins. Rough Landing, Holly: One of the best songs on here and is the second single, really great lyrics. Two Weeks from Twenty: Really calm second acoustic, funky trumpet. Meaningful/Anti War lyrics. Waiting Game: Really heavy guitar with some awesome drum parts. Martin Sheen or JFK: Just another great song Space Travel: Love the lyrics in this really cool. Grey: Really great song one of the best, a great addition to the album. Words, Hands, Hearts: Slow yet heavy. How I Go: Acoustic guitars, pianos and violin. Really great build up in this with a female singer and Ryan (Guitar and Vocals) Holly Wood Died: A really great song to end the album on it has something of everything. Awesome solo in this too and a calm end. Rating They share the same sound as Blink 182 and other alternative punk bands out their but somehow come across more unique with a violinist. A great follow up, amazing lyrics and ace guitars. 4/5 Resource(s) Wikipedia
This album is amazing, and exceeded my expectations from this band. These guys are my favourite band. And I can't wait for them to come back to Toronto in May. Their concert was one of the best ones i've ever been too.
I was left pretty disappointed with Ocean Avenue. The only tracks I liked from OA were Only One and Way Away. Is this any better, or should I skip this one?
this new albums sounds ----ty i bought ocean avenue and loved it....but now that yellowcard is going through all these band member changes they dont sound like the good ol ways
I was seriously going to post this a few days ago but had to go to work. I personally would give this album a 4.5/5 I love the sound of the whole thing!
