    As long as you have the old console i don't think backwards compatibility really matters.

    i heard that xbox 360 will be able to play xbox games and ps2 games?

    well im was on this website where i usually buy my games from and found out about this.its worth looking into and it clearly says
    "Backwards compatible with selected current XBOX software."

    halo 2.5 is already made and release on game disc...... updates are as follow for the updates that have been done on halo 2

    VERSION UPDATES:
    2.1 - Cheat/Balancefix 1
    2.2 - Warlock, Containment, Turf, Sanctuary maps
    2.3 - Cheatfix 2
    2.4 - Playlist Fix
    2.5 - Gemini, Relic, Elongation, Backwash, Terminal maps (the actual Halo 2.5 that u can actually buy in shops
    2.6 (latest) - Playlist/Cheat/Balance Fix

    xbox 360 aint backwards compatable.. and i dont know about you, but thats the reason im going with ps3 or the revolution
