Hey guys and gals, I would like to buy a laptop and I was wondering if anyone could refer me to some good configurations. I would like to use this laptop for many things including some high end gaming, I am willing to pay up to $2.000.00 for it and I want to get the best out of it. So far I've looked at some dell and alienware laptops. any comments would be appriciated
I'd say alienware, im a fan of there laptops http://www.alienware.com/product_detail_pa...ode=SKU-DEFAULT
http://www.alienware.com/Configurator_Page...ode=SKU-DEFAULT it is priced relatively well given its performance, though ti would need more RAM. I'm not really an alienware fan i don't buy into their marketting ----, but the price on that is decent for a c2d system. also remember the mroe ---- you add the lesser the battery life. IMO base config + a bit more ram(be it by self upgrade ro by paying them 150$ to do the 50$ upgrade themselves)=optimal
Thanks for the the comments so far I've been looking at Dell and alienware but leaning a little more towards alienware, because everyones comments on Dell's service I mean the xps laptops from dell look fine to me and seem great but with that many complaints lol... man stinky laptops are so darn xpsnive Is this laptop's processor great compared of those that use intel core duo??? I dont know so much about AMD all I know is they are great for gaming.. btw: this laptop is one of my choices becuase of the SLI option
Well Dell ownes alienware so if you think they suck (they do) keep in mind its the same people and the Intell's conroe is the best proccessor out right now, but besides that, for gaming i would take amd over intell anyday
that makes one of us. Conroe, Allendale, and Merom simply outpace anything AMD has to throw at them. AMD's only hope for mantaining the performance crown in any areaa is k8L. as it is right now 99% of things favor C2d. athleast when it was AXP vs. Northwood AMD held the crown in quite a few areas including office productivity. FYI highend gaming on a laptop is stupid given the simple fact that highend cards kinda use more energy. I'd take 2 hours of mid-end gaming over 30 mins of high end gaming, SLI is a waste in a laptop. for the money you can get a kickass desktop and a decent laptop and have a better overall experience. also AW is still a seperate division from Dell, onyl diference is now they no longer stock a lfietime waranty and their parts are now cheaper.
^ I dont know what the hell you just said =) I guess it is common sense though that the SLi cards will take alot of battery time and thats GG T_T dang man
