most people I know that have played both games would say WoW. I remember playing the PC beta for FF XI and was pretty underwhelmed but WoW tickled my fancy for a while. The biggest plus for WoW is the community size.
Well, I have only played one of the two and it was FFXI.. and it was my first MMO EVER, and uhh... it left a bad impression cuz it's boring as fook, IMO.. so for the sake of all those ppl that play WoW, I sure hope WoW is at LEAST 10 x better than FFXI, cuz FFXI sucked
Seems like all the support I had for FFXI has already been put out in here. But yea I would go with FFXI. Takes ten times as long to learn, but is worth it in the end.
Final Fantasy takes WAY more time overall than WoW will... so I'd suggest WoW to you, unless you wanna buy my FFXI character... Try to get a friend to hook you up with a 10day free trial for WoW, and try out Xbox FFXI beta? That is the best way to choose. Keep in mind FFXI has extremely high prices because people sell gil daily... I played FFXI for almost 2years, and I'd suggest you try it out, but I think you'd prolly have more FUN playing WoW.... both games get quite boring.
every game gets boring eventually. I think I am just gonna share an account with my friend on WoW. Anyone know if its possible for the same CD-Key on WoW to be accessed in 2 diff places at the same time (so he and I can both be on at the same time)?
Having played both of these games I can tell you WoW is much better. FF is just a complete, boring, endless grind. If you want to level you must have a group, and it takes forever to find one. The downtime sucks, you will fall asleep on your keyboard like I did. Its just boring, all the content is boring. The high end raid content in WoW is the best I have seen compared to the other MMO's out there, BWL and now AQ are both well designed. WoW is much easier to level up because its much easier to level up, solo, find a group, and quest. You will be much more satisfied with WoW. FF is, imo, one of the top 5 worst MMO's of all time. Also, the PvP aspect of WoW makes things much more less boring.
wow is cool but ffxi is lame first few times i got a level down i was like funny after the free month i didnt bother to renew
I played wow for a while, but it was just too easy. FFXI has so much more to offer, both in content and difficulty. Most people who knock ffxi are those who never took the time to discover all it has to offer.
