Date someone significantly older than you?

    Is age just a number?

Do you have your limits when it comes to dating someone and their age?

    Just curious.. :)

I'll date older, and unless it's hitting the weird numbers I don't mind.

However, when it comes to younger, I won't date anyone more then 2 years younger and even that's a push. Suspect this changes as you grow older.

Well I agree, the extremes I wouldn't deal with but pretty much anything else I can do.

42's too old. Mid-30's would be the limit

If it's a 42 year old male dating an 18-20 year-old female, I think it's "wrong," I guess. I don't really think it's "wrong" but I don't like the idea of it. Either the girl is using the guy or the guy is using the girl. There's likely no real emotional attachment there and I don't know how a girl would physically prefer a 42 year old over an 18 year old.

If it's a 42 year old female dating an 18-20 year old male, then it's likely the male is just horny for the cougar. Men don't get as emotionally attached to that sort of thing like women so they don't get taken advantage of... however a guy might be able to take advantage of that cougar.

If you can't find someone your own age you're more than likely desperate.

By own age, I mean give or take 4-5 years.

I am a big fan of 'love has no boundries', but frnakly 18-20 to 42 isn't 'love', its more than likely lust, and the 42 year old will rarely express similar feelings, its exhibitionism for him. Where a person is mentally, and physically, and in the world is MUCH different at 42 than it is at 18-20. Think about it like this, are you ready to date your parents?

Also, stop acting like you *have* to be in a relationship within days / weeks of breaking up with someone. Its honestly not uncommon in the least bit to go well over a year before engaging in another relationship, not like your going to die soon. How about you date for fun, and eventually you'll more than likely stumble across someone who turns from Mr. Right Now into Mr. Right.
