Credits have become worthless, prehaps there is too many in circulation.

It seems to me there are far more ppl with 10's of thousands of credits nowadays and this is hurting the economy, ppl are buying less, not just credits but even the marketplace has its slow points.

Basically i am suggesting a period of time where posting for credits is stoped, i suggest not mentioning publicaly the length of the cancled credits for posts to insure people aren't just going to " wait out the storm" .

    Thought Ect ...

In the past we have stopped members gaining credits on all forums .

No doubt your thread will be looked at and a decision will be made .

    Thanks for the suggestion .

    Most welcome.

I just think it will put a bit of value into the system once again not to mention buying a membership, say Donator costs however much what is it now? 30USD? and you can also purchase it via credits? 3,600 at the current rate the 3.6 is cheeper if you buy credits then buy a membership ...

We've done this in the past, and to no effect.
The simple reason why? People do NOT get their credits from posting, the community as a whole do not. Credits are usually first brought into circulation in large amounts through competitions or purchasing from the GR Bank.

Removed posting for credits did nothing last time, and it won't this time.

The members of GR don't grasp the concept that less credits in the system means credits are worth more.

We could remove half the credits from the system, and the only thing we'd get is people complaining, and the signature prices wouldn't go down, nor would tutorial prices, etc. It all remains the same because members don't grasp the concept that if less credits are in circulation, they are worth more for each one.

i think the GR bank has to stop selling Credits from now, and that competions only should give out memberships no credits that would help i think.. and take more credits from a user when a rule has been ignored

Agreed with the memberships and not credits, or atleast other prices like .psds / c4ds / tutorials.

Also, the GR bank doesn't make alot of money, there are hardly any credits created from being bought via the GR Bank, because credits are EXTREMELY cheap in the offers section. You can find things like 2-3k credits for $5 if your lucky.

We have a max limit, but to put in a minimum would make the market rather... odd.

Markets are highly based on supply and demand. Currently there is a huge supply, and little demand, we won't accomplish much by saying...

The max ratio you can sell at is 200:1 (ie 1000 for $5).
The minimum ratio you can sell at is 150:1 (ie 750 for $5)

Or vice versa, minimum being you HAVE to sell at 200:1, or at 250:1 maximum, but in either case, accomplishes nothing in terms of bringing a real value to credits.

There isn't a set way to fix this at all in my mind, as it requires a huge cooperation with the members, or a 100% fresh restart, which could go either way.

Exactly, in either case, the site either belongs to the credit whores, or the new people.

The only other way I can think of is each member resets to a static credit amount, even the mods like myself whom have 40-50,000 credits tucked away, or EBK's 90,000 credits. Each member has 200 credits given to them after their FIRST 100 posts or something (to prevent people from registering 400 accounts), and that would be it. No credits per topic / post.

Then again, this will also piss off anyone with alot of credits, or make alot of people happy who don't have any.

Our current average ratio per member with over 100 posts is 660 (there are 5599 members with 100 posts or more, and 3,692,586 credits actively in the system).

Out of the 90,000 currently active (over 145,000 have registered, most were deleted due to inactivity) only 5,599 members have 100 posts or more.

This would put our credit situation at under 1/3 what it currently is.

yea but taking all the credits from the members and replace them by 200 credits wouldnt be something either because some people really worked hard for their credits.. like EBK i guess he made alot of sigs & other art and sold them.. it wouldnt be fair to take the credits away as he worked for them..

i say that increasing credits should be turned down in all forums and the GR bank should stop selling and that the contest should give out other prices than credits like memberships or recources.. so that there wont be any "new" credits brought into the forums :) but the credits value will go up as there will be less because people will be breaking the rules and you will be keep fining them.. so there will be a time that everything was like it was before that everybody had 10k's

We did this once, for 6 months, and brought the credits down to about 2,500,000 and within the last 3-4 months over 1 million credits have been made.
