****WARNING WHAT LIES AHEAD IS A EXAMPLE IF IDIOCRACY***** ----keep in mind im 19, and polish.---- MON: ok so starts on monday, where after 12 striaght hours of work, i need to delete my render files, manualy not using render manager, (cuz FCP crashed during thet middle of a render and teh files were still there and i had no disk space.) so i go into spotlight on my capture scratch disk (where i keep my renderfiles), but instead of typing Render Files, i typed CApture Scratch, adn deleted it. with out question. it wasnt untill i was on my 30 min drive home that i realized what i did. after about 20 mins of cursing i settled down. and got home and went directly to sleep. TUE: the next day i had to scheduel time with my capture guys. i get the time (luckaly) and i start capture all the tapes agian. (this take the whole day), well when i get to reel 3 it jams, (im using D-9 tape, dont ask why) now this is a first that that has ever happend to me, EVER, so im at first starting to freak out, (cuz im young) and then i settle down. i pop reel 4 in and start to disassemble reel 3, i get it fully dissassembeld. and *plop* out comes all of the itty bitty tiny pieces. so now im stuck. i spend an hour trying to find every last piece out of the rug, (mainly springs.) and then i get the thing unjammed (gears got goofed up) well i spend the next 3 hours whiping sweat off my brow as i try to put this thing back together. I get it back together, (luckaly) save one very tiny, and VERY important spring. at first im like "ok ill go with out it" but i pop it in and it wont play "curse, swear, curse, curse, curse" now i have to spend another 20 mins tanking this back apart, where then i have to put this spring and some how keep it from falling as i put the two halfs away, some how i got the spring to stay, i dont know how. but the front section wont go back together (the front where you label your tape), i try this for about 30 mins before giving up. keep in mind im in the last 2 weeks of the project, this shouldnt be happening, I do a search for tape repair, and find some gents in Washington DC, but one prob, i dont know any of these peeps, i dont knwo their reputation, but im in no place to argue, so i send it out on tuesday. and i finish up capturing all the rest of the tapes. WED: is a nice day of rendering, i relax that day and try to calm my self a bit. THUR: client comes back from the approval version of the DVD i sent out 2 weeks earlier, with too many changes (more then im used to, mainly errors on my part) so i get the list and start working on them. FRI: another long day, everyday this week i have been in the office no less the 12 hours. fun fun SAT: in whole day 16 hours. finnally caught up SUN: Nothing but exporting. and i gotta pull and all nighter. MON: (tomarrow) client comes in and gives final go. SUMMARY: well my week was crap, but it went up towards the end. Jake P.S. feel free to make fun of me as much as possible, i laugh at it now.
