Worm!

Alright. I tried to tell Dem about this, but I guess he was busy or something, so I told Kirbir, she told me to post it up and see what the staff and everyone thought.

Basically a worm is just when a bunch of people each make a "block" or square of artwork within the dimensions given. Then, a person strings them all together to create a looong piece of artwork, known as a "worm".

Now, we need either one or a few people to be in charge of getting everyone to sign up/collecting their artwork/yelling at the members to actually create it, if they signed up, then the final task of stringing them.. It's not easy to string them as you must match the colors and make it look natural.

I for one would volunteer to be one of the people that would run this and if we get a good response maybe we can make it official. So, I guess no point in asking who wants to be a helper just yet, but lets hear your opinions.

Haha, it is, more then people would think too!

It also is a way to attract some members and to get people more interested (as if they aren't interested enough ) with the site.

I guess, its just something to do!

Yeah, I remember that.
The thing with that is that everyone had a tiny little diamond. Here you basically have a large canvas, just to yourself. Maybe it's just me, but I think this is muuuuch better.
You have more space and you can do a lot more stuff with it.

Edit: Also, I would take the initiative, but I would like the staff backing this up because it would be much smoother.

Sounds good...The only real problem with 'worms' though, is that it relies on people to make their pieces in the right order (which is normally picked on a first-come, first-serve basis) so that it flows. This means that if someone is away, the whole thing comes to a standstill...

...Still, moving that person to the end of/removing them from the list after a certain amount of time would work. =p

I'm for it, as it means I can blow the dust off PS. =]

 

Its fine for me, but if we do it, you'd likely be running it, and my history with member ran fun things in the past is that 90% of them fail.

 

Major problem with it from my Pov, is simply, blending in two VERY different LPs is actually quite hard, and unless done well the whole thing ends up looking relatively bad. We've actually tried this in the past too, but couldn't hurt to give it a shot.

 

Yup, if this is going to happen we need to say like: every single addition must be in .jpg format, top quality etc.
Or else we have a high quality pic, following by a crappy .gif picture.

 

Well, I was more leaning towards either a hi-q jpg, or a psd.

PSD would make it the easiest to blend.

Dem, I understand these things fail a lot.
That is why I would like to have the backing of at least some of the staff.
Even if it is just one or two...
I think one or two staff members who actually are in full control with either me or some other people could make this work and work well.
