BG9 is now horrible for PvP. All of the good players left for Mal'Ganis, Cho'Gall, and Illidan after the rush of noobs to the server in season 3 and season 4 who wanted to make a name for themselves amongst the best PvPers in the US.
A lot of good PvPers still play on BG9. Tich/Barthilas. Cael is a ------ing joke though, I've got a toon on there, it's depressing.
Well I'm mostly rolling in 25 man naxx gear now, we're 11/15 in 25 Man Naxx, cleared everything else apart from Maly.
Stopped playing for a little while. Dropped my guild. I have all the WotLK Heroic Raid, Reg Raid and Heroic achievements (of the nightfall, immortal, undying, twilight vanquisher for instance) and my drakes (black, plagued, red) with my 2h tank set, dw f/f tank set, dw s/f tank set, 2h dps set, dw f/f dps set, dw s/f set, all ilvl213 except maybe a couple of ilvl 200 epics that just happen to be better than ilvl 213 items. Nothing left to do until Ulduar except sit around making gold, so I figured time to have a life.
Character name: Dentistry Level: 62 Class: Hunter Race: Troll Faction: Horde Realm: Hellscream EU (PvE) Only started playing a few weeks back. Was 3days 14hours when I dinged 60. Just been roaming around and stuff since. Levelled a couple of alts to 20ish. Hunter nerf ftl =[ I feel so inadequate, like I have limpdick or something.
Hunters and rogues are still the top 2 overall dps if they have any remote clue what they are doing in a raid environment.
Rogues in their current form can't compete in the top level raids. Be it primarily due to the need for AOE in a lot of the fights, or their general mechanics. The majority of WWS reports will actually back me up on this.
Funny, the rogues in my guild are still pulling 6-7k dps. Other rogues must suck, like I don't know... over 95% of the players? Currently my name is on the top 10 WWS spots for DK DPS and I *always* place on stand still and nuke fights (like Patchwerk) 1-2 - Rogue 3-5 - Surv Hunter 6 - Me Given, their dps received a nerf due to the HAT fix (which was a fix, not a nerf, considering they were ripping 10-12k dps on some fights), they are still the most dominant dps class.
Back when I played, (which was before Burning Crusade came out and then a couple months after on-and-off) I was a level 42 dwarf hunter and I found myself killing "twinks" and doing generally quite well for myself in PVP. Was that before or after the supposed "hunter nerf" I've heard so much about?
It's impossible to compare vanilla with wotlk in terms of nerfs and buffs, the classes have all changed dramatically since then. Hunters stayed strong in Vanilla, stayed strong for the vast majority of BC too but the latest patch hit BM Hunters fairly hard.
Mages turned epic in the last patch. I can now 12.5k crit with arcane blast and that is following a 7k and a 9k. All happening within about 5 seconds. Though 28.5k from 3 crits is amazing, the average is only about 15k, still a good amount of damage to do in 5 seconds. I can kill almost any horde in the game before they can actually get to me, and if they do I just blink and repeat and that is if I am not using arcane power and presence of mind, and not critting. I hope they don't take this epicness away from us :S.
