It's ok, but the edges of the metal thing seem very ruff. The metal itself seems pretty poor quality. I like the colors and the idea though.

Like I said, a lot of work to do on it, going to overlay some grungey textures later on and overall neaten it up. Metal is kinda meant to be sharp for this one ^_^

Updated first post with new image plus 3 steps i've been through.

WMP skin = Windows Media Player Skin

    ITS NOT SMALL! >_<
I took a previous WMP base skin, and it was a circle. The dark grey circle on mine is the previous size, so it's about average.

    Merged Post:

    Finished ^_^
About 100 layers, huge PSD file and a long time :|

Im not sure about wmp but with winamp you use xml and png images, you have a different image for a different state like a rollover in html. Kinda hard to explain.
Anyway the skins look ok but the lighting needs some owrk, atm it looks unrealistic with the amount of highlighting on the edges. I think you should add a few more details in such as vents and line insets.

Nooo vents etc. It's meant to be shardy metal, not futuristic mumbo jumbo :|

And coding a skin is annoyingly hard but i'm learning at the moment.

PS : Since when the f*** did lighting matter in a WMP skin

If you're trying to make something look like metal then lighting matters a whole lot.
Take a look a theskinsfactory skins and look at how realistic there lighting on the interfaces is. It makes the difference of something looking flat and somethink looking 3d.

    It's my first skin. :|
Jeez, once you make one with perfect lighting come back and talk. I've not focused on things like that YET :| It's probaly still a wip but. The skin factory are f***ing proffesionals and you can hardly judge my first skin by their...10000t86938549th

And actually, if you look. Its kinda obvious the light is coming from the top to the bottom, as it generates downwards shadows and picks out the highlights on the way + it shows on the orb.

Im just saying lighting is importaqnt, i wasn't comparing your skin to the skinsfactory i was just saying how much effective lighting makes a difference. It's good for you first skin, im just suggesting things to improve.
