[wip] Unique Site.

Well here's the progress so far. I would say this is only 50% done. I am still thinking of ideas for the top interface/header. Just thinking about vents, screens and stuff to put there. Not quite sure. Ideas would be great. I just made some quick content as an example but im not happy with that, need some ideas. Anyways, here it is, 50% done:

 

its currently feeling very empty. The big red 'thing' should have the site name, as it stands out more. Also the sidebar is kinda empty it think.


on the whole i think its far to graphics intensive for a portfolio. Rethink the type of template it is.

BUT this is just my oppinion. Also I like the idea so dont think I hate the template. Just some constructive critisim

 

I never said it was a portfolio thanks for the comments though. It's more an interface atm.

Edit: Reason I didn't put site name in the red bar is because I have other ideas for it. Just working out how to do them .

Since the last one that I have seen you hbave definetly shown some major progress

 

Looks pretty good. The header at the top right those things look like bulbs, perhaps making them look like bulbs by adding some colour to them.

 

Thanks man, that means alot coming from you. I'm actually not happy with this one though. I think i'll turn it into a splash page or interface. The curve makes it hard to work with.

Personally I don't think it's your best. You have some good, unique ideas but you need to concentrate on your lighting and shading. You need to put more detail into it, make it look more metallic rather than plastic.

Check these out for some inspiration on how to get some really good lighting. Obviously there damn good, but it helps you get the idea. You may have seen them before;

Also, I think you have made the header a little to big, some users might have to scroll down just to see some of the content. Keep working on your greys, it can be hard to make them looks nice and silvery rather than dull and meh.

 

How I wish I could make things like DemonDan, he's been my inspiration for a long time .

Rofl dude, that's one of the most original web templates you'll find. I hate tutorials and never use them. Please don't just assume, if you're gonna comment at least back it up with some evidence.
