dunno if this is true once you install SP2, but even you want to remote desktop connect (RDC) to a computer, that computer that your RDC to must have xP Pro on it. That for me matters because i use that a lot when i take my dad's laptop at night and hide away in my room... I can easily get all my documents and work around with stuff that doesnt require large of amounts of data to be transfered over the network. That's really the only noticable difference that matters to me; if it is valid though.
the diference in terms fo security was mroe pronounced at first, but yeah, after SP2, the two are more or less the same save for a few special programs etc... like the system backup utility. Did I mention that all the files for the extras are also included in the windows XP home disc and that it isn't too hard to rip them off it?
