Windows Xp Activation

    I forgot to register windows in 30 days. so now when I try to go on the computer it wont let me log in, it says i need to register online or by phone and i really dont want to call unless its my last option? i tried using the disc again (windows xp) and it doesnt boot up so i really dont know what to do, i tried to disc that dell gave me the system restore one, it doesnt boot im not really sure what to do, any help? thanks

    Lol, I'm the same as you. I *hate* calling places like that.. Knowing that I need something from a total stranger is wierd. I cant think of anything else that you can do, so I think you may have to end up phoning..

    Hey, perhaps you can get a family member to do it for you ;)

    You could see if a family member or friend will let you use their internet to register, that should work.

    it's not that i dont have internet lol but the laptop im using it for doesnt..it doesnt let me login aswell..................... so i dont know i guess ill just call...

    its a computer youre talking to... you only talk to a real person if the computer says its unvalid..

    Jst use system restor, its like F10 i belive, and it will let you star your computer as it was from day 1. Or just call.

    just call and tell them waht happened, there shouldn't be an issue if you're legit, shouldn't take more than 10 mins.

    and FYI on dells it is shift f1 or shift f8 i beleive, each OEM varies HP uses f10 in most cases I beleive but I cannot be sure.
