Did you use XP when it first came out? It was even worse.

but vista uses an extra 400mb worth of RAM!!!
with 4GB costing around $40, that's a whopping $4 worth of RAM EXTRA just to run vista over XP.

    THAT IS A WHOLE $4.
WHY I COULD BUY A SANDWHICH FOR THAT MUCH MONEY. WHY WOULD I EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER PAY AN EXTRA FOR THE SAKE OF RUNNING A MORE STABLE, MORE RESPONSIVE, MORE SECURE, MORE FEATURE FILLED, BETTER IMPLEMENTED OS?

THAT IS A WHOLE ------ING SANDWHICH!!! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I LIKE EATING. I WANT MY SUBWAY NOW

Windows 7 is not 2-3 years away. There are betas that have been leaked. The OS will probably be released before 2009 is out or the first quarter of 2010. The public beta is supposed to come out in December and I already have a pre-beta which is pretty nice.Windows 7 fixes and optimized all of the windows vista problems and is much nicer. From my experience with the beta it will be a huge improvement to vista rather than a whole new version.
