If your talking about specs and games the PS3 will win...if your talking about sales the Wii will because its only 250$ and people will think its worth it.
G4 might've gave lots of attention to Microsoft and Sony and not much of Nintendo's. If you go to video game websites and the official Nintendo web page, you will see many news that would have the number of infos equivalent to the Microsft and Sony's. Me, in my opinion, would think that the Wii would give non-gamers the simplicity to play games. When you think about it, if non-gamers try the PS3, the tilting sensor and the buttons would be more complex to them. THe number of buttons on the PS3 are complicated already to non-gamers, with the tilting, there'd be a chance that the non-gamers would be confused. If the PS3 had less buttons, the non-gamers would be having fun playing a Marble Madness-ish game. To correct you, the Wii controller has more movement freedom than the PS3's controller, since the PS3 only has the tilting function. (proof http://ps3.ign.com/articles/705/705934p1.html) Also, for the Wii Controller, you don't have to move your whole body, you just have to move your arms. THe people in those Wii vids are just having fun. Never worry about Nintendo, their innovation of the NES was a success, their DS was a success. It is just the world around you that tells you that Nintendo's falling, but you should know more about Nintendo. Ever wonder how the DS Lite overwhelmingly defeated the PSP? It was gameplay and innovation over graphics and power. To answer the topic question, there are different possibilites: Powers and Graphics: PS3 of course Innovation and Gameplay: Wii all the way I'm not sure about the 360, since there's only one game that is highly anticipated and it is being beaten by the Gamecube in Japan.
Yah, cept back then none of the companies supported each other, but now with M$ supporting Nintendo, it could change... Well, this is what I think. Game-wise, of course PS3's gonna win. No matter what they're gonna have the most third party support, which means more exclusive games. Realistically though, it's gonna be the Wii. First, it's price, which compared to the other competetors ($600 give or take for the PS3, $300-400 for the 360) is dirt cheap. Second, it's acessable to anyone. Third, it's actually gonna have third party support (while we can't look in the long run, a good array of comapnies are already developing for the Wii) Finally, it has the VR-Console thing, which no real gamer would be without (Look at the sales on XBL Marketplace, Geometry Wars is so hot right now) With me, I don't really think it's gonna be like PS2/Xbox/GC, I think it's more like the handheld market, PSP/DS. The PSP at the time had a very high price point for a portable console (same with the PS3), and it offered features which allowed the games to be viewed in the best way possible (with the large screen; the PS3 with using Blu-Ray and have the most powerful graphics engine) but... currently, the DS is greatly outselling the PSP, because of it's low pricing (same with the Wii) and it's course to have more innovation than pretty graphics (On the DS people bought more copies of Nintendogs than Madden)
1st - ps3 , its got value, graphics and great exclusive titles; socom 4, mgs and assassins creed 2nd - Wii, innovactive, fresh type of gameplay, good exclusive titles no other console can have (in the type of gameplay), gonna be the cheapest and plus its got zelda 3nd - xbox 360, kind of rushed unlike the other 2 but it does have xbox live
Actually, FF7 is not going to be remade for the PS3. It was just a tech demo remaking a scene from PS1's original game. Here's proof, read the last sentence: http://ps3.ign.com/objects/748/748460.html
That doesnt state one bit that its not going to be remade, all its saying is that the trailer was simply made to show the capabilities of the PS3. Doesnt mean that trailer could spark into a full blown remake of the origional game (which, i might add, would be extremely popular across the entire world and they would make a butt load of money from it). Just like their is no proof stating the game will be remade, there is no proof saying it wont be either. Personally I think the square enix corporation would have to be stupid not to remake FF7, or atleast FF 8 or FF 9. I would love to see FF 8 in pumped up graphics, as the storyline and battle system didnt really have much to offer me and, as we all know, the graphics in that game are pretty much a step down from FF 7 in most aspects.
Do graphics really matter in a game? Well this is GameRenders. Sadly, President of SqueareEnix, Yoichi Wada said that this tech demo was't a teaser or a hint for a remake. As said on an article, http://ps3.ign.com/articles/614/614859p1.html, it reads near the end of the article: "President of Square Enix, Yoichi Wada, was quick to point out that this wasn't a teaser, or a hint of any intention to do a remake of Final Fantasy VII, but explained that Final Fantasy titles were indeed guaranteed to come to PS3 one day." I think in my opinion that they would'nt remake a game just for the graphics, I think it would be a big update. But announcing that there would be a new game should be better (Final Fantasy XIII).
I think that people would have bought PS3 just because of the reputation of the PS2. Most people don't know alot about techs, and therefore just pick what looks good. The Nintendo has a reputation for beeing a childish machine, but with the "backing" of Microsoft, it might just loose that tag. It seemed a natural step by Microsoft and Nintendo to team up to take down the leader in the industry, and then fight of the first place between themselves. Anyway Microsoft has alot more money then Nintendo, so if they take down PS3, then Microsoft would win.
I dont play videogames for their graphics, but basically, if you look at it, most people wont even touch FF7 anymore due to the graphics of Halo or FF X or anything even remotely similar to those. If they were to pump the graphics into a remake of the FF7 game looking like that, old school gamers, new school gamers, etc. would all want to have it (if they are into RPGs at all). I mean, yeah, some upgrades would happen like the battle system, they should do something similar to FF XIII in a fully active battle system, with the ability to pause so you can between players (since itd be hard to pull of FF 7 only playing as cloud lol).
