Why Is Photoshop So Exspensive?

Seriously. Its an excellent program, id buy it! only if i had 649 bucks. GEEZ! y is it so expensive?

 

You can get it way cheaper on a student discount. Though, I bought cs2 for 17 bucks on ebay haha.

 

It's expensive because it's a very powerful graphics program.

 

Because they know people will buy it regardless of the price, sad but true.

 

Buy the pirated version.

The cost of photoshop is nothing compared to the advertising revenue most companies get out if it.

 

Simply because the enterprises will pay...
The designers have become so attached to it they cant live without it, so addicted they have become they are willing to starve for a week to have it.
Thus if all the designers die from Photoshop withdrawal the enterprises don't make money... (replace Photoshop in the above example with money and you have entrepreneurs)
Price is driven by demand. Therefore lots of designers who will have it at any cost and will be forever loyal means big price.
Not specifically placing the blame on the designers but it is our own damn fault.

 

Prices are so high because they know companies will buy it, same story with Windows and all the other 5000 Microsoft programs.

 

And that is all there is to it. I bet it's not all that simple to create such a powerful software, you people seem to think it is.

 

Because if you want to be a designer, you for sure will need photoshop.

 

of course its not simple, but what computer program is simple to create, Firefox is a powerful browser and its free. Photoshop is so expense because people will buy it no matter what, I mean what's adobe competition Corel, Gimp, Xara? There really isn't any competition so they have no need to lower the prices to attract buyers.

 

That is true but also, you can make a fortune with photoshop so it's possible to get the 600 back lol.

Took the owrds out of my mouth. They basically have a monopoly right now for graphics software. No competitors are able to match (or even come close really), so they jack up the prices.
