    IE7 still has its share of security flaws, and Microsoft is not going to correct them. Instead they are going to spend 18 - 24 months developing IE8 to try to beat firefox ( http://www.activewin.com/awin/comments.asp...x=37964&Group=1 )

    During this time there will be no planned service packs for IE7, only development for IE8. So have fun with that.

    I picked firefox because;
    1) Free, fast, etc.
    2) Ton of great extensions such as adblock plus, down them all, etc.
    edit: Oh, and one of the most important, cant believe i forgot it:
    3) Firefox has updates, often. If a security problem is found there is normally a fix for it in a reasonable amount of time. While IE with microsoft sits there ( I still dont think they have fixed an exploit in IE6 that has been around forever. )

    I cant comment on the Opera because i have not used it, but i hear it is good. If it has something as good or better as adblock plus i will prob switch to it because it uses less ram.

    Firefox will leak like a MB of memory every hour or something :P

    I tryed firefox didnt like it so I decided to try it again and this time I put it where the IE button was in the start menu :P I ended up just using it and I started liking it. Its perfect for browsing forums if you want to look at paid tutorials and offers and requests just open up a new tab on it and you dont have 3 open!

    Yup :) I actually do use my ram though ( I have 3 EVE clients running at the same time as Photoshop / Gaim / Firefox, etc ). But I never notice any slow down, and it is rare that I do that ( Most of the time it is because im to lazy to close like photoshop ).

    I had firefox but it, after a while, it got a few viruses which I don't see possible will all my scans and firewalls and what not. I recommend the new Opera. It has great features and could prove usefull in many, many ways and in many situations. The new internet explorer is also very nice.

    I'm too lazy or I forget to click the firefox icon :D, but I do know that IE has tabs too. Atleast the version I got uses them.

    Tabbed browsing - that's more than enough reason w/out all the security features everyone's talking about,

    Being able to open up multiple tutorials/gfx sites w/out having a bunch of windows. Or when I'm doing research I can have multiple wikipedia entries running on one window.

    I use firefox over IE mainly because of the extensions, I have tried using Opera which was a very good browser, and also better than IE, but firefox's extensions always pull me back, I can easily customize firefox to my needs, and some extensions are very useful, my personal favorite is adblock, I haven't seen an ad in months. firefox 2.0 also has inline spell check which makes my posts not look like ----. It's also themeable and more standards compliant than IE.

    @ some people posting IE has tabs now :rolleyes:
