I must add, I got banned from IRC for mentioning a name I mustent mention apparently. So, for this reason of repeating what I had heard, I was banned. I would get on IRC more but, I cant. ;(

Even Llama didn't give the gmods admin power, the only other person he gave admin power to was his real life friend who he spent time with in person on a regular basis. It didn't seem to be that big of a problem then, why is it now?

Partly comes down to concern, if you give someone full admin access they have the ability to really screw you over. Not that any of us would, but you can see how any person would be concerned about giving someone full access to do such things.

Like in any good business, when it comes under new ownership, or if they are releasing a new product, there is a time period of which things go a bit slower, while they work out all the kinks, etc etc. Consider that what we are doing, working out the kinks.

Yes, we will have limited acp access as soon as we can, but until then, is it so wrong that we ask the community to have some patience while we get that taken care of? Which by the way, that limited acp access, is costing money to have a mod designed thats compatiable with this forum for us to do so.

*Edit* Just saw your note about being banned from IRC, if you want to PM me with what happened we can probably get that taken care of to where you are able to access it.

Also take note that it will be LIMITED ACP access, they aren't getting full on access to everything with the site. They'll be given access to the options that are relavant to them. Most likely member IPs, credits/shop, membership activation/unlocking, etc.

NOTE: That's my assumption at least. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You guys dont realize what type of work goes into the hosting and the
staffin of this whole damned forum, if you noticed that, you wouldnt have
the time to complain because you would be to busy doing something
productive to contribute to the community.

I am in the IRC most of the time my computer is on. and to be honest, I
dont think that there is nearly enough people in there. maybe 20 at one
time. which isnt even 1% of the websites population. Not that i am
expecting to have 100,000 people in the IRC, cause that would just be
way to hard to chat. but I honestly think that there should be atleast 50
people during the high times? sounds reasonable doesnt it?

Okay, other times you see people like master coming in ONLY to
compain. and he isnt going to get ANY help, cause shaggy is not in there
either.. and he has the server acess.

Increasing the staff would not slow down the cracking attemps on
accounts, Its happened to me a whole bunch, i cant even imagine what
the RICHEST members are like. The only thing that would make the server
run better is hiring a server guy to optimize the server, like Logic said.
he is going to cost money, the next option that has been voiced is the
upgrades. Once again. MONEY. TBH, we need to donate more, not to
exclude my self, I have donated a decent amount to buy premium
account ect. I just need to have a surplus of cash before I purchase my
    donator member ship. ANy ways.

My last words, Shaggy and the staff are doing a fine job, not saying there
isnt room for improvement. BUt its not as easy as you guys may think.

yea especially when you have to moderate a rowdy forum full of fishlovers.
They're a dangerous bunch. Always flaming each other and selling learning rights to their fish.
    Cut shaggy some slack.

You are correct Axiom in that it will be limited. That way as mentioned before, that whole micromanaging thing can take place. We will be able to assist in things like that, and I can guranttee you, once we have access to do so, all these problems you see that take just a little bit longer now, will be taken care of alot quicker.

The mass majority seem to be happy with the way things run, and the way things are done. I get thanked all the time for how quickly a problem is resolved, etc etc...its just a few, and I do mean a few, that aren't happy, and unfortunately, you can't please everyone all the time.

Alot of people go here you cant expect for everything to be perfect 24 hours a day. the staff are doing a good job and are very active from what i can see. i dont think its their fault that they get so many overloads. people have to understand that.

I will try logging on there again and then if I see a problem I will let you know.

I am just tired of fighting mods, I want some cooperation out of everyone. See, I think that being a civalized human being is a good thing.

Now, as far as the ACP Limit access goes, I realize things cost money, I do. I have a car, a computer, etc. etc. But, it's something that has to happen. The world always, from now on, revolve around money. I can't do anything else about that though. This is a forum for "fun" for me. It's not so "fun" right now because we are talking about this, but it is fine. Though, like I said, and I am repeating myself, I can't do anything else about the money part. I have donated $45 to this site, so for some "fun" at an online forum that is about as far as I want to push it. I am not cheap by any means but we all have bills to pay, if this forum must come down because of the bills, I COMPLETELY understand. I would never put myself in the position to lose anything over a forum.

Yes, let me know if you have anymore problems logging into the chat.

As far as the ACP goes. Yes, I do realize the world revolves around money, currently the world wants over 8,000 dollars that I don't have, but thats another story for another day.

Its much appreciated that you have donated money, and if everyone was like you, then yes, we wouldn't have any down time, and we could afford to do everything everyone wanted for this site that costs money. Unfortunately, not everyone is as kind as you when it comes to donating money.

Between server costs, maintenance, etc. It costs a pretty penny, so some times we need the community to be a little patient with us while we get things taken care of.

I concur. I think we covered everything..

This isn't the place but while we are on the topic, what are the Coordinates to the IRC room? I need the room, I got "irc.quakenet.org" just a bit more info. on it, that's all. Then I will test to see if I can log on it.

Well, what's there to say? From what I read, it seems that some things have already been implimented or are in the works to solve some of the problems in the forum. More staff will not decrease the chance of cracking accounts, and why remove the lock feature? You do realize that it will make hackers go into your account more easily, if you think about it.

Features on this site are put for a reason. As for the forum sometimes "blacking out" due to the ACP Limit or something, that's just because of lack of donations and money and Shaggy is always working on something, it doesn't need to be publically announced. Also, I recall Shaggy sending an email to everyone about Shout, a form of advertising, which brings money into the forum... and people were complaining... over 1 email. That 1 email helps provide money/donations for the forum so we can fix solutions like this. Money doesn't come from thin air. So I mean, where else is this money suppose to come from? Shaggy has put quite a bit already so just appreciate what has already been done. Instead of arguing, work together to find a solution to the problems. I got to admit though, there were some constructive critism and very interesting points made in this topic.

    Snipe. ;)
