    How about a tut for adding depth to a signature. You know simple, focus in the foreground, background lots of depth with appropriate lighting.

    Contrast

    The key to contrast is a distinct difference in color, pattern, tone, size or shape. If you don't own a color wheel, Adobe Kuler is a great tool, or Contrast-A (an Adobe Air app).

    The best contrast in color is black and white. (or in technical terms; negative space)

    Next in line is hot and cold. Hot is your reds, oranges, yellows... Cold is blue, green, violet...

    If your cut-out needs to stand out, use complimentary colors to the main color of the cut-out or put a hot color overlay on your cut-out and cool on your background.
