I can pick a few things... Pople give complain that i pluck regular guitars as if they were a bass, and it IS detrimental to my playing when I do play.

meh. don't mean to offend but i know 3 bass players, and they were all failed guitar players.

it seems that people who play bass are people who gave up on guitar

I plays bass. have played for two years, are very good ;)
Me and one of my friends wanna make a band, but it is no so serius right now...

LOL!! you most be joking?? Why does ppl always think the bass isn't important for a band? It is the most important part of a band, more important then the guitar!! I play bass because it is my fav instrument and I like it more then I like other instrument also the guitar...!!

    Btw which bass do have?
    I have a Ibanez sr1000
[IMG] indeed a master piece of a bass...

i play guitar, and if you play guitar, you can pretty much play bass, because i dont play bass, but i know how to. its pretty much just knowing frets n stuff, not realy that hard.

morepheuz im gonn have to disagree about the most important part of the band thing though, im not saying bass arent important, but ive never seen a band with only bass players, but you see bands all the time with no bass players

    Bass sucks, FULL STOP.

    Reasons for that are:

    1. All it does is add a super low tone in a background of a band.
    2. You can hardly hear it and at most times never hear it.
    3. It's too easy and boring.

People always say bass is really hard and not all guitarists can play it, but that is simply a bunch of sh!t because I'm a guitarist myself and the first time i played bass i could basically master it. All it requires is a person with big hands (or without , doesn't really matter) who can already play guitar.

And if you want to argue with me go on, i gurantee you that you won't win.

Oh yeah bassists only learnt bass because they either miserably failed with guitar, or they wanted to play the easy instrument.

    :P
