My freinds brother camped out with his freinds. He was offered 1500 for the ticket to get the PS3 and turned it down.
are people forgetting that the blu ray drives can't read data much faster than DVD drives at this time if not slower? hello long load times. either that or you compress the data but that puts you back into DVD territory. as it is now, most games onyl take up about half the capacity of a DVD since everything is compressed to make games load faster (but remember the compressed files must be decompress which uses up processing power) most of the fan boys here have little technical knowlege and just flame what some company says. fanboy: ooh look, Cell used in the PS3 runs at 3.2GHz and has 8 cores analyst: cell fails to deliver on its promises, it is only capable of processing data in-order which kills performance, and IPC is shockingly low, performance isn't all to different than what would consider a budget chip. Furthermore it doesn't actually have a full 8 cores it has one and then 8 subunits, of which one is disabled, and another is dedicated to running the PS3's OS fanboy: OMG RSX chip in PS3 kills it is soo hardcore, analyst: The RSX chip is based on a design which nVidia no longer puts much development into the G71 core architecture. nVidia is promoting G80 now, in part because it offers over double the performance in real world enviroments. Nvidia officials say that RSX is obsolete. fanboy: but RSX is 550mhz and Xenon in the Xbox360 is only 500. analyst: there is talk of the RSX having been downgraded to 500mhz and furthermore the architectures of the two cores are vastly diferet. In a large number of scenarios the Xenos chip overpowers the RSX chip, though RSX does pull ahead in some cases.
