for close to the same price you can get a PI-e card AND a motherboard, seel your current board and you will be ahead$$ wise.

If your going to unlock the pipes ... go for the x800 GTO ... if not ... go for the x850 XT. I have an x850 XT Platinum Edition (basically the same) and I can play Call of Duty 2, FEAR, Star Wars: EAW, Half-Life 2, CS: Source, Doom 3, Far Cry and many other games on max settings on 1280 x 1024 resolution.

Oh ya ... and my card is AGP 8x ... just like those.

It only has 12 Pixel piplines ... if you unlock them ... and im sure many people here know how ... you can have 16 pixel pipelines ... so it will be just like an x850 XT. So just go for the x800 GTO if you want to do that.

all those complaints were about driver support... I'm sure this has since been resolved with new driver releases. for the extra 30-40$ it isn't that bad a deal, at the price of 230 for a 6800GS though you are getting ripped off.

pretty much anything is better than a 6200.

if you don't get a 7800GS which is decent bang/$, you should order a new mid-end motherboard and go PCI-e as the AGP cards cost about 40-80$ more than the PCI versions
