I went to some electronic stores today to get a new monitor before Halo day arrives but tbh, most of them were either crap or expensive (I'll go to more stores later) so now I might get one through newegg. :D

I'm looking for a decent 22" monitor and it'll only be used for my 360. Budget max $300. Wonder if you guys could help me out: http://www.newegg.com/product/productlist...........

I'm liking the $239 Acer one because of the frame but the $259 HannsG has better contrast.

SAMSUNG 226BW is regarded as the best of the bunch by many or at least it was when i got mine. The only worry you have with it is the panel lottery, not all the panels in the monitor are made by samsung one out of the three are.
On the back of the monitor there is a label and to the far right of it in square brackets [ ]there is a letter S, A or C.
S being the best made by samsung and pretty much the only one you want the other to being very poor, but as of late they have stopped branding them with these letters, i recently got one without a letter, i assume it was a C and it was VERY poor, colours are CRAP, i couldn't get a decent yellow out of it, spent ages fiddling on with it you might get better results if you have a calibrator but i don't know, this is the same for all 22's as they are all TN panels, another thing is the viewing angles, something as subtle as sitting back in my seat made the top half of the screen darken so unless you can sit level with it, avoid it.
Needless to say i took mine back after 4 days and got myself a 24inch dell (non HC version) and the difference is AMAZING.

If you want it JUST for your xbox its probably going to be fine if you sit level with it if not don't get a 22, it might be better if you went looking for a similar size LCD TV instead of a monitor.
