Well, I'm going crazy over the new games that are coming out and I can't even play them at all with my old graphics card. When I mean old, I mean ooooolllllldddd... Version, not year. >.> But anyways, I'll I have is a plain Dell, other than the graphics card, and a damn PCI motherboard. (1 free slot.) I looked on BestBuy and found ONE! http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1152837291694 I can play tons of games with this like Oblivion, Black and White 2, Call of Duty 2, etc. With, probably, little to no lag. (If I turn the AA off.) My system requirements are just barely enough to handle it. (512MB RAM is all I got.) . It's also $130, ($140-$150 total for ground shipping >.< ), so it's a pretty sweet deal... Right...? Is this worth it? To buy this graphic card? Or should I just buy a new motherboard, processor, and better graphics card? I almost have enough money JUST for this buy but I'm planning to buy some more RAM and a harddrive with way more space.
the x1300 is the best PCI card out there, but that really isn't saying much. the price for it is just plain out statutory rape in the most painful manner possible you sure you don't have a PCI-e slot or even an AGP port? the non PCI version(thje PCI-e) costs something like 40$...

Mmm... Not sure about the Diamond version of it. 2 people said it locks up. Also had issues with a certain Catalyst driver but I can get a newer version of the driver or switch to Omega. Thanks a BUNCH, guess I do have enough money to buy it. Oh, and yeah, I got regular PCI, not PCI-E. >.<' One thing, it says "GDDR2", I have no clue what that means at all but maybe it'll work on my comp. Some reviewer who also had a Dell had the exact same specs, but I have a Intel Pent. 4 instead.

I have a Dell, with a PCI slot. Dimension 3000 I have. You won't get a huge performance difference, and that card is just rape. Get an FX5500, the performance isn't great but you can play games like BF2 and 2142 on all low at around 15 FPS. I also have a Celeron 330, you have a P4 so you'd get better performance. Also be careful when installing new drives on your dell, there's not much space in the cage to mount it. I had to remove the PSU, and mount it by putting an old cellphone under it to keep it up. And about the "GDDR2", it's the type of RAM the slot supports for your graphics card. There might be a difference between DDR2 and GDDR2, or maybe they're the same but your slot should support it.
gddr is the type of ram on a vcard, dont worry about that im not to sure what the g stands for to be honest, i think its graphics? graphics double data rate ram sounds realistic
Ah, phew, thanks. Uh... I don't know. :wacko: It says that BTX boards were adopted by companies in late 2004 and early 2005. I got my Dell in Spring of '05... I don't know now but I'm desperate enough to buy that X1300. :unsure: And no, I can't buy a motherboard. ;(
but you an get a bewtter board and a better card for the same cost... and that x1300 won't be playing oblivion I'll tell you that.... and you tell by looking at your case... it's that simple.ATX has the board one way BTX the other.
