90% of PSPs will get Dead Pixels. (Color Blots that just stay one color) and Sony won't fix or replace them unless you get 3. DS rarely gets them, but if you do, Nintendo guarantees replacing/fixing and for free! PSP has a larger game library, but many of the games are low quality. DS has better quality control but a more limited game selection, due to a slower and smaller developer list. Both can play on the internet, with the new DS Wi-Fi. DS is much much cheaper, and PSP is inefficent. Same with PS2. PS2 requires 2 fans to keep the system cool. GC needs none GC seems to have more capabilities if you ask me. Who really cares about music and that? It costs more money, adds a lot of inefficency to the system, and there are better, cheaper products for just media.
I think it depends on what you value. If you want the "hip" though not necessarily quality machine, choose the PSP. But if you value gameplay and backward capadability, choose the DS. I love my DS and the vast majority of the games are at least decent if not great. Be sure to get Mario 64 DS and Meteos.
PSP, the only people saying DS are straight up Nintendo fanboys, it's obviously inferior to the PSP ^_^
