Gawd i hate dells, i had a laptop last year and it broke. Kinda had the same problem as you with the beeps etc. Then i phone up the support line and after paying Sh*t loads on payed minutes i finally get through to someone. The person sends me through a bunch of tedious tasks on trying to get it working. Finally they get it working and im on my normal desktop screen and its all fine. I tell the guy its all fine and he says to turn the computer back off again and switch the DIM's around. He said doing this would ensure it would never happen again. I do it and in short... My computer dont work anymore.

    IMO, never trust Dells.

Thats what I thought when he said the monitor doesnt display anything.

Even if the memory was bad the bios should still come up and display on the monitor.

How many DIMM slots do you have? Also, make sure the ram is seated well... and [.BC.] Birds - When helping someone, type decently enough for them to understand...

ye im thinking its a gfx card problem or a monitor problem but the comp would run without a monitor but anythin is possible with dell!!

just try making sure the gfx crad is in properly and if not i would buy a new gfx card or you might wana wait until you can tell us how many beeps it makes on start up?
