This debate seems to be straying steadily further and further from the original post in question: What if God doesn't exist?

Now, in a very weak attempt to bringing this steadily turning into a hijacked topic into what it was meant for, I guess I'll just say a little something...

Okay, in a religious standpoint, if God never existed, there will be no Bible. Now, look at the effects of having no Biblical foundation in certain things. One very important one will be the very creation of the United States of America, the one country who has aided people so far up the ass it's scary.

In a non-religious standpoint, this thing will also happen, even if you're atheist. Think about it, if nobody ever believed there was a God out there in heaven, there will be no Christian Bible, and its foundations will not be placed, and therefore a lot of things will probably completely destroyed, worse, and in some cases, probably better. No more war over the Bible. Unfortunately, people will probably fight for something else. So either way, you can't stop war just because you stopped religion.

No "making up" a story of God, or no God in existence, will both effect a lot of things heavily. No morality will probably lead to the destruction of nations before they were even developed.

If people do as Pheym stated, run around naked, drinking, cussing, having sex all day, we'll never progress in anything...ever. We probably will never even founded alcohol TO drink. We'll destroy ourselves before anything can ever happen. It's human nature to be destructive one way or another. At least what the Bible does is gives us rules so we can control ourselves and actually do something that can progress as the human race.

Another thing I want to bring up, which is still in question for me, is that maybe, just maybe, if God never existed or was made up, that Atheism will probably be the next thing we're going to be at war with. You want an example of why I think this? Here it is, from a post in this very thread:

This guy here sounds JUST like an imposing Christian, just with an atheistic approach. I've seen many people like this around the entire forum. This is why I think that if God had not exist or was made up, we'll be fighting for this. It will be a conflict of "GOD DOESN'T EXIST" with whatever. Atheism will take the place of Christianity if there was no God. It's an out there thought, though. I haven't put much thought into it. I'm sure a lot of people have already mentioned something similar already, though.

Now, this thread has strayed far far away from everything. Of course we have our stupidity spurring around and the imposing of beliefs, but that's bound to happen with a topic like this, eh?

I want to touch on the evolution thing for a second, though. A few neutral things I want to bring up.

Now, LostUchida asked "How would you explain dinosaurs?". Read the book of Job in the Bible, specifically chapter 40 and 41. It describes two creatures. One named Behemoth, another Leviathan. Each are described as dinosaur like creatures. There's your Biblical support of dinosaurs.

Now as far as evolution goes, there's two things I can think of this as. One is the obvious "Man wants to stray away from Biblical beliefs because they feel it's confinement when it really isn't confinement at all", and another being something like this:

When God created us, He wanted us to gain an understanding of the universe. Perhaps God did create evolution, though. It is something he wanted to find out through understanding his nature in a scientific fashion. Maybe he wanted us to find evolution out. Perhaps some parts of the Bible, specifically in the Creation of this very universe, he wanted us to discover it for ourselves.

That is why I will never doubt completely evolution happened. Satan tried to change and twist everything, though, and maybe that is what Satan did for evolution. A lot of the stuff that Christians go against Evolution with isn't how Darwin put it. In fact, Darwin was shocked to see they thought he said man came from a monkey.

Maybe Satan tried to change up evolution so we can just debunk and not have a better understanding of the universe. Perhaps Satan wanted the human race to not progress in thought and understanding of the universe, so he switches up Evolution to be completely against the Bible when it in fact could coincide with the missing pieces of understanding how we populated and more in the Bible.

This is an out there kind of thought. I think it could happen though. This is just all theory. Much like....The THEORY of Evolution.

There's a lot of things in this thread that do make me go "WTF". Specifically Passion's post about Jesus' resurrection. Then Galione's response was even worse than Passion's. Gosh...

Not even going touch on the The DaVinci Code, Templar Legacy, Angels and Demons, I felt The DaVinci Code is a good book, nothing more.

Okay, that is my two cents, I suppose. A lot of theoretical things. Again: Anything can happen.

A good portion of the Qur'aan is extracted from the Bible. If you'd take some of the principles of most religions out there and combine them, you'd end up with Christianity. Sad thing is people refuse to put religion aside and accept Christ. Religion saves no one. If God did not exist, this life will not exist because he is the Life. Jhn 14:6 Too many folks have a vague understanding of the Gospel because they won't read it for themselves. When they do, they misunderstand because of lack of faith. To say you can't trust the Bible is another issue. Why would scientists look to this book for clues and proof of other things but then deny the faith entirely with their own doctrine. "A double minded man is unstable in all his ways" (Jam 1:8).

Of course it's beyond human understanding because we need God to help us understand it.

Well, our understanding is through time. A beginning, and an end. I feel that if God exists, he lives outside of time. Therefore, we can't fully understand everything around us, specifically how and why God created the world. It's beyond our understanding, and hey, God created time, he can exist outside of it very easily. So God won't really help us understand things fully, but we'll find out once we go to Heaven. According to Christian Biblical perspective, that is.

And Passion doesn't seem to understand Buddhist religion at all....I just realized that....haha.

People, this whole discussion, don't tell me you guys REALLY think God is real? It's a fairytale ffs. You do believe god is having the earth in his hands? How about live beyond earth? How many hands will he have, lol! Like hey, god is watching me, does he stare too? Jesus lives within all of us, can i ---- him out? I don't need other people living within me. I don't even believe in a soul whatsoever. C'mon God is fun for older people of 80+ or for kids of 10 years.

Didnt take all the time to read that whole thing but it seems to be a subject that you know alot on. Personally I do not believe in God but the concept of god. If you dont get what I am saying it is essentially this:

I don't believe that god exists but I believe that religion and the need for god is one of the few things that holds society from the brink of chaos. Those who believe in god help the community, others, and do good works for society that may otherwise may be ignored without the belief in a higher power.

Even if god is man made it is an essential part of society that allows society to thrive and survive.

I'm really not sure, but I do believe in ghosts since I actually encountered one believe it or not. And that triggers the fact that another world does indeed exist.

God definitely lives outside of time because the laws of time does not apply to the heavenly realm.

Have you read the Bible From genesis to revelations? Have you even opened a bible? Why do you say God is only for older people and kids of 10yrs? Obviously you just want to make a idiotic statement to get credits. And yes I believe there is a God, Jesus. I believe that God watches out for us. He knows our past, present and future. He cares about EVERYTHING you do. He watches out for you, he takes care of you. If you allow him. Everyone has a soul.

Any of you EVER read the bible? It predicts so much, that ended up happening. It was written so long ago, and predicted the most amazing things, that ended up happening.

P.S. Arent religious threads against GR rules?
