People say that they talk to god all the time. How do you tell they aren't making up fake facts? Big circle?

I talk to God alot when im at school or church, he is just like another friend and a God to me. He even calls us "Friends of God" those who are saved of course. God ONLY hears those who are saved and thsoe who want to be saved. God doesn't hear the sinner [John 9:31, "We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly man who does his will."]

S---stain, if you've nothing nice to say, do us a favor and crawl back into mommy's womb. I honestly can't believe that they allow trash like you to keep posting here.

People do say and believe that (speaking of Christianity) they have a personal relationship with their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Prayer is basically a phone line. Praying that I win the lottery, however, will not work. People will pray over decisions like jobs, school, etc. etc., and often times feel that they've found the answer through that method.

Im sorry but I couldnt help but laugh at that either. I am all for loving god or a higher power and I won't critisize you for it but that was a very awkward statement.

Doesn't matter if you think it's funny--it did come across as such to me, as well. The point is that he's been acting like a dickhead throughout the thread. Having opinions is one thing. Acting like a jackass towards others about them, however, is quite another.

i believe in both i must say. i myself havve had quite touching experiences that could not be explained by anything else. of course this is my religion talkin, and you really wouldnt understand as it is something unique. i can say however that there is a stronger power out there that started something. in my opinion god began all creatures, earth in itself, and let things evolve from there.

    ^Nice generalization.

No human will ever do anything unless they get some reward from it? Never do something for the sole purpose of helping others? Hardly.

IF god existed, he would be the biggest, most belligerent bully in the face of human history. For example the jewish god oh yahweh in the old testatemnt is portraed in such a way so his believers would be scared of him, not to embrace him.

I have been an atheist since i was 9, it is best to stop believing as young as possible. It is kind of like santa clause, imagine how heartbroken (and stupid) you would be if you only just found out that he was make belif at the age of 39.

and i assume that you also believe that the Earth is no more than 6 thousand years old.

what i am going to say will hurt your feelings, but it is a new insight into your thinking habits that you should know about.

Most people who are religious, have been religious for most of their lives. meaning that as soon as you began to start talking as a child, you religious parents sabotaged you with their beliefs of God and religion. You were always born with such a narrow view of the world that you probably did not stop to ponder outside your small perspective field.

do you really think that is is possible for a superbeing to create the universe and all that exists in it in 6 days and call it quits? god is certainly taking a long vacation from this building project of his.

why couldnt we see a REAL divine intervention that would proove that god exists? it would help so much, I personaly would love it if superficial being existed. it means that there is a cheat in the universe.

Also, think about the theory of evolution. so what the hell happened to the dinasaurs? did they one day choose to become birds some 6 thousand years ago? maybe god came down and gave them a lift.

have you realized that every single living organism in the world is the product of a continous and steady line of evolution that has evolved on earth for the last 300 million years.

just food for thought, I rather see human kind move towards the right direction, instead of get sidetracked by some bullcrap belief that does avsolutely no good on a general basis for mankind.

Religion is the root of all EVIL.

this topic is never going to get anywhere. There isn't enough proof to prove that either side is correct. This is all opinions not facts. Those who wait for posts to reply to should just stop.... Your opinion is just as right as theirs.

actualy, we are at a point in the history of mankind where scientific fact has backed every anti religious opinion. so in truth, we are moving towards abolishing religion as a whole. slowly but surely. and if you really want to stay agnostic, let is be so. atleast you look at both sides of the picture, for that you are admired. but please consider the fact that religion has been the reason for all the misery, war and genocide that has occured in the history of mankind. you will begin to hate it aswell.

I was also born in one of the worst Religious institutions in the world, Iran. So i have seen the problems of religion first hand in the middle east. so what i have to say has some weight.
