If you believe in evolution blindly, it's no different from a religion.

Anyway, I've done my research, and to me it really does make more sense for a God to have created everything instead of it randomly, magically forming out of nothing and then mutating into humans who can debate about it over the internet. The odds of the simplest life-form on Earth (given an unlimited amount of amino acids) forming by chance is something along the lines of 1:10^44,000 or so (assuming I remember correctly). That's a "1" with forty-four THOUSAND zeros after it. This number is incomprehensibly l arge... if you think you can imagine how big it is, take this as en example.

Say there is a column of pennies all lying on their side (as if they were in a giant penny roll) stretching from one side of Texas to the other. Now pretend that one of these pennies is painted red. Just one. You drive along the line blindfolded, and whenever you want you can say "Stop", reach out, and pick one penny from the line. For evolution to have occurred statistically, the one penny you pick MUST be the red penny.

However, those are EXTREMELY generous odds for choosing the right penny. To be a *little* more realistic, lets say that this line of pennies extends from the tip of Maine, down past Florida, along the Mexican border, and up the Pacific coast until it reaches the tip of Alaska. This is a column of pennies about 13,000 miles long. Assuming a penny is 1.55mm thick (the standard size), this means there are 7.409x10^11 pennies (or 740,900,000,000; 740 trillion, 900 billion pennies). Again, you drive along blindfolded (for several days without stop) until you decide to stop and choose one penny. It had sure better be that red one!

Still.... this is an amazingly generous idea. In fact, the actual length of the stack of pennies would exceed the length of the known universe. Yes, I said that correctly... the stack of pennies would stretch from one end of our Universe to BEYOND the other end of our universe. Actually, it would do it about 1x10^43,970 times. This is how I calculated it (I was in a hurry when I was taking these notes, so they may seem a bit disconcerted at times. I'm just too lazy to polish it atm):

    To Your "God" Question"

The question is tricky because it sneaks in the false assumption that God came from somewhere and then asks where that might be. The answer is that the question does not even make sense. It is like asking, "What does blue smell like?" Blue is not in the category of things that have odor, so the question itself is flawed. In the same way, God is not in the category of things that are created, or come into existence, or are caused. God is uncaused and uncreated - He simply exists. How do we know this? Well, we know that from nothing, nothing comes. So if there was ever a time when there was absolutely nothing in existence then nothing would have ever come to exist. But things do exist. Therefore, since there could never have been absolutely nothing, something had to have always been existing. That ever-existing thing is what we call God.

Also how it is interpreted. There are many words that people interpret as things of being of god or jesus. Like heaven. Heaven is nothing but a place in the skies. It pretty much is the sky. And the word elohim is interpreted as god. The real translation of elohim is "those from the heavens" or something like that.

Jesus is just a man. No one really said he was the son of Jesus. Think of it, if we, hypothetically speaking, went back in time and brought all these medicines with us and healed them, they would think that you we have magical powers. So what if Jesus had medicine?

But I don't know where he would have gotten the medicine... :\
    JESUS IS AN ALIEN!

And observation, don't forget that one, or you could just choose to ignore it.

Last time I checked, it was impossible to observe things that happened billions of years ago.

i dont believe in god, i believe in a creator. the word god to me is more of a religious word. i just think that something created the first cells or something along the lines and everything just came along by itself.

Things called fossils and years and years of recorded proof by scientists.

How do you think history dates all the way back to B.C.? Same goes for the bible cause I know god didn't write that. :P

Yeah, and transitional fossils and that they don't show most of it and some assumptions made to be fact and the big circle starts over again.

As for the Bible: Christians believe that God spoke through the men that wrote the books in it. Divine inspiration, I guess.
