First of all, it is possible that God has reasons for allowing evil to exist that we simply cannot understand. In this the Christian can have confidence in God knowing that His ways are above our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). As the Bible says, the just shall live by faith (Hab. 2:4). Second, God may be letting evil run its course in order to prove that evil is evil and that suffering, which is the unfortunate product of evil, is further proof that anything contrary to God’s will is bad, harmful, painful, and leads to death. God gave Adam dominion over the world (Gen. 1:28). When he rebelled against God, he set in motion an entire series of events and changed the very nature of man and creation. Both were affected by sin. Creation was no longer a paradise, but bore thorns and thistles (Gen. 3:17-18; Rom. 8:22). People became sinful (Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:3), who were haters of God (Rom. 3:19-12), etc. The only conclusion to such a situation is death. Jesus said, "And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened" (Matt. 24:22). Sin is rebellion against God and His created order. But God has not left us alone in this fallen world. He continued to enter this world, pointing us to Himself, to truth, to morality, purity, and love. He used the evil of the world (liars, perjurers, the envious, etc), to bring His Son to the cross so that we might have the opportunity of eternal life.

    god doesn't exist.

    Thats just my opinion.

Just think.. How can u HONESTLY believe those stories in the bible?
and adam and eve making humans? thats bull.

I think religion was made just to keep people in order on earth. If there was no religon everyone would think there would be no consequences and anarchy would be unbearable.

^Something along the lines of that.

And your alternate theory? How can you honestly believe in something that is a theory, something with quite a few major gaps in it, and something that, though people say "disproves God," does nothing of the sort?

ok i see where you both are going with the problem of evil. but you do see how it's a natural contradiction of the biblical god and evils existance.

everything you have said doesn't prove that you're god exists it just explains why he may have allowed evil to exist without taking into account the three mentioned qualities of said god.

Do you have a better idea? I believe your theory has many gaps in the theory. Things can't be answered. only through your opinion. Your atheist, thats a religion.

How can you prove your theory. You have no better proof that a god exists that a big bang created the universe. Do not try to say that your philosophy is more "Correct" because both are shots in the dark to try to explain the unknown. You criticize a theory with "quite a few major gaps in it" while religion and the bible has just the same.

Do not criticize when you yourself can not prove your own beliefs 100% true.

    Nothing against you ferret i ♥ u. :P

My point is that with people, either Creationism or Evolution/Big Bang/"Sciency stuff" is presented as fact, and the other theory consists of a bunch of (insert monkeys, fairy tales, and/or idiots). I'm not big on seeing "your theory is a bunch of bull----, mine is proven fact," when it's not. For both sides.

well the people that interpret the bible to see god in that way (as i have portrayed him; i'm assuming most people would believe this since they wouldn't want to follow a malevolent god). i just think it's an interesting topic brought up.

another thesis i was using was some sort of belief complex that was created in the middle ages... where it's a 4x4 grid and it has consequences and if u believe or not

    ////////////////////Believe Non-Belief
    god exist: /////////heaven hell
    god doesn't exit: nothing nothing

you can see here how it is in your best bet to just believe in the faith to save yourself. the only way ur condemned is if there is a god and u don't believe. :P

And I don't understand the "big bang" theory. In my opinion, it's impossible for there to be nothing, and then "magically" have the universe the created out of utter nothingness. THATS bull...

The theory that God created the universe is the same, there was nothing, then there was something. I think the issue should actually be "What if...God DID Exist", and what would the world be like, if everyone thought/knew a God existed.

I personally cannot possibly believe that a God exists, simply because it doesn't make sense. I know too much about science to believe that heaven/hell and God etc exist, it's simply not true. I think that if all people thought a God existed, then there would be much less war, as everyone would be fighting to be as nice as possible, in order to get into 'heaven'. Currently, too many people see the Bible and God as just some stories put together by a few different authors (which is probably true), so it will never happen. That and the fact that there are so many different religions...

Creationism isn't a theory. It doesn't even qualify as a hypothesis. It's a story. Im not belittling it by saying this but that is what it is.
