    Few questions.

Do you interpret the bible literally?
A lot of creationist try to claim the Earth is 6,000 years old. Does it actually say this in the bible or is the age unspecified? I tried skimming through Genesis 1:1 to see if it said anything about this but couldn't find anything. Do you beleive the Earth is 6,000 years old?

I was just going to bring that up. According to the bible the earth is only a few thousand years old.

Where did dinosaurs come from. How did I creature Millions of years old come before the planet?

I think I'm going to pick this one up: show me where you see people saying this (the majority of people--the "a lot of creationists"). Also, have you any idea as to what the Bible contains and what was chosen to be shown? The "days" described in the Bible (in Genesis) could be twenty-four hours, months, years, etc.. Did you also know that those people in the Bible, the 999 year-olds, 775 year olds, etc. etc., aren't the only ones mentioned? Some are left out, as the only ones mentioned are those of significance. Unless you take it literally (which is both disporven [the literal year value] and ignorant), you won't get 6,000 years. The value of the Creation "days" is to be debated, seeing as when they happened (according to the Bible), there was no measure or concept of a "day (no moon, sun, or anything/body to say that "this is a day")." The term carries a different meaning than today's "day," anyway. The words used in old Hebrew documents for the "twenty-four hour day" and the "Creation day" are different.

See the book of Job. Dinosaurs are mentioned as having existed. And with the "according to the Bible" nonsense that you kids are bringing up, show me where you're getting this stuff. I could say "according to the Bible, you people are all idiots," not cite a verse, and be doing the same thing that you are. Quite a few Biblical scholars here, it seems, that have the ability to know what the Bible says automatically without even looking at it/citing where it says (thing).

Where did dinosaurs come from. How did I creature Millions of years old come before the planet?

Gee, sounds like something else I can think of...

God even warned people not to take many parts of the bible literally. Such as when it talks in Matthew 5:29, "If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell." You really wouldn't do that. In many places in the Bible you would take things literally. You have to read inside context to get full meanings of things.

Genesis 1, he used the Hebrew word yôm for 'day'. He combined yôm with numbers ('first day', 'second day', 'third day', etc.) and with the words 'evening and morning', and the first time he employed it he carefully defined the meaning of yôm (used in this way) as being one night/day cycle (Genesis 1:5). Thereafter, throughout the Bible, yôm used in this way always refers to a normal 24–hour day. There is thus a prima facie case that, when God used the word yôm in this way, He intended to convey that the days of creation were 24 hours long.

And to answer your question, Yes I Strongly believe that the earth is Young.

Good job! You've contributed: absolutely nothing. With a bit of help, maybe you can, oh, I don't know, provide an answer to a question directed at you instead of dismissing whatever is said.

just wondering what you guys think of the problem of evil. (directed at the religious folks)

we all know that god is all wise all benelovent and all powerfull then it would be irrational for evil to exist. (he can't have not known about it since he is all wise, he can't have wanted it to exist as he is all benelovent and he can't have not been able to stop it since he is all powerfull)

I used this arguement for my philosophy exam, got a pretty good grade :) Naturally though people will argue that god knows that evil exist and he has a purposeful plan surrounding the concept. But really, doesn't that just prove my point(the natural contradiction of the good god and existance of evil)?

You and your idiotic thinking is idiotic which lead me to say idiotic over and over again in a very idiotic fashion that I do not want to do for it is idiotic. :P

Actually, it wasn't a belief. It was a fact, Darwin never said anything about "monkeys". We made that bit up for criticism against it, for all we know, a hairy creature could be a freakin tiger. Hehe...tiger evolution. Sweet. :P

This thing is getting locked soon...I can feel it.

*rebels and flames the living crap out of you* :P

This thread's going so fast and I'm so lazy to read. <_<

I'd love to know how basically saying "You guys are going to regret not knowing Jesus" is somehow racist...

Also, same sex marriage would most likely be aloud.

We'd probably know the truth behind other lifeforms(if they are real)

    The bible wouldnt exist.

We'd probably have better cures seeing as how we'd fight to prevent death instead of accepting that your gonna die and be in heaven.

People wouldnt be arguing about him.

Racism probably wouldnt be as much of a problem(dont feel like explaining)

People say we'd be living life normal. But we wouldnt, it would be completely different.
