the thing that matters most is the player, the second most is the actual quality of the guitar and NOT the brand. branding is marketing and those who go for are are sheep.
Google much? http://www.prsguitars.com/ My thousand dollar Cort is far superior to my teachers Gibson Les Paul, which he paid almost 6 thousand dollars for. Thats a lot of money for a little Les Paul signature on the neck, huh.
i dont understand how people can pay 6000 dollars for a guitar. here I am still using my crappy squire T_T i want a good gibson, but guitars are just so darn expensive!
Too many people buy guitars based on the name and not the actual quality. I know many people who have bought gibson sg's, explorer's, les paul's and lasted a year or two before screwin up. Whereas very less buy a cheaper replica or even dearer replica but it lasts 3-5 years. All depends on the guitar itself, not the brand.
I'm agreeing with you and it's true of everything. My specialty(computers), automobiles, clothes, you name it.
Maybe not exactly with the guitar. It's on the owner/user. Because if that person is a careless one even though it's a Gibson or even the most expensive then it'll be fine for only a short time. But if the owner really takes good care of his/her guitar then it will really last long even though it's expensive or cheap.
