that's your opinion for the last time. How is rock different for rap. Wow they play instrument, big deal, if everyone can rap then good for them. Your statement about most rappers not writing their lyrics is opinion again because you have no evident proof of this. And not all rap is gangsta rap. Why don't you just stop being narrowmined.

I'm pretty sure playing instruments is a HUGE deal when it comes to MUSIC. I like both rock and rap. But when it comes to talent, rock has rap beat. Yes it takes talent to write a good rhyme, let alone a full song of good rhymes. But I know it doesn't take that much talent to create a 4/4 beat and loop it for an entire song, with the addition of a salsa shaker, or clapping at the chorus.

Meanwhile rock takes an entire band (most of the time) to write an entire song with melodies and harmonies. As well as making a good riff for people to rock out too.

I think you're both right that rock and rap are types of music. But rap definetly doesn't take more talent then rock.

sometimes it's not how much talent went into the song, it's the outcome of the song

if rockers put has much talent in there music and rappers did there would just be a hit of a chord and some talking to that chord and a simple beat of a drum and the bass turned up all the way saying "BOMM CA-BOOM".......

Yes, if you're a mainstream listener. But i'm not. So I know the difference between real musical talent and mainstream industry talent.

I was listening to Yellowcard before they joined Capital records. When they were an indie band. I still have mad respect for them and love their music.
