ok, so i found a CD of my OLD OLD .psd's from like 2 years ago probably, and i went to check it out but when i put it in my computer's fan (i think) was spinning like crazy, after that, the fan cooled down a little bit, but then the computer started making these weird ringing or growling sounds. i thought it was the cd, so i took it out and i put in a few other BURNT cd's and it made almost the same noise, but when i put in non-burnt cd's they are fine. anyone know the problem?
if its the fan, i suggest replacing it, it sounds like its going bad, do you have another cd/dvd drive on the same desktop to insert them into? your cd drive could be dying, they don't last forever unfortunately but they have to be pretty dang old before they die out, depending on how much its been used and for what
Questions: How old is this computer? Custom build or Supplier? Have you changed the DVD / CD Drive on this computer before? Zain
i did no adjustments to the computer, its the same old computer since i bought it, which was a couple months ago. (in january08 i think)
Take out your CD Drive and throw it in the trash Get this one for 30 bucks or so http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16827106072 That one If you think it is your fan post some specs of your Motherboard and the configuration you are using I can probably find some fans for you. But most probably it is your CD Drive as far as I know Have fun Zain
thanks, its alright though, i might just take it in for a quick repair at futureshop cuz i still have warranty.
