About the members voting on SOTW.

How about you just create a poll and have each member get only one vote (like they should). The one with the most votes at the end of the set time period is the winner.

    • Definatly a NO. I have been a mod/admin/owner of many, many successfull GFX forums, and other forums. EVERY time we implemented this, it struck down SO many issues. These dont even need to be discussesed, its obvious from the first day on.
    • The way GR has theyre "clans or crews" is perfectly fine, but yes, a diffrent Membergroup could be pretty cool.
    • Items, hmm, good one. Let me think of a few..Not sure actually, I'll pass on this one, although it is a good idea.
    • The current layout is nearly perfect, I dont know what to change really. Well, I already talked to you about a few things BFTP.
    • Tournaments; Hell yeah. More, Currently, GR lacks this very much...We need more things to participate in.
    • GR members SHOULD get the right to vote in SOTW. This should be done NOT by Poll, but every member must post in a format of: I vote: because: current score:, and members may ONLY vote with 200 or more credits.
    • HELL YES. 'Nuff Said.

    • Should we have a sub section for Graphic Clans, and if so; what requirements should be set for a clan to get their own forums.

Sure, I think it will promote competition which leads to vast education of the programs used for making sigs. And also, it promotes friendship amongst clan members... provided people keep a civilized manner about it, I think this would be a great idea. :D
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    • If yes to the above, should Clans get their own user groups if they reach a certain amount of active members, or certain other special rights?

I don't feel this is necessary, and it would only lead to problems in the end, IMO.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    • What sort of items would you like to see in the store? Be realistic, and think of good prices. Would this item be something you would buy, is it realistic in terms of what GameRenders can offer, etc

Change the view another user's warning level item so that it can be used to view anyone besides mods, and admins (as obviously they don't have one) warning levels for a short period of time. Maybe two or three days tops. This would give others a chance to see what type of things people have been warned for. It would also be nice to see a GR weekly, or monthly raffle for a credit prize or something like that.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    • The current GameRenders forum layout: like it or it needs to be changed? If so, what sort of sections or changes would you like to see

I would like to be able to access the sub-forums from the main forum index. I think this will help newer people in finding where things belong, and the many great things this site has to offer.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    • Tournaments: Should GameRenders hold monthly, smaller tournaments...or larger, tournaments that span over several months?

I think the larger tournaments work out better in the long run for the people that stay around this site. Short tournaments tend to attract stragglers who only come to join the tourneys
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    • Should GameRender members get a vote in Sig of the Week? If so, how do you think this should be done.

Sorry, but I don't think it's easily accomplished with the massive amount of entries each week. It would lead to a lot of chaos and problems... people creating new accounts, voting for friends instead of the quality of the work. Sorry, but I just don't think this one will work IMO
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    • Are you looking forward to GameRenders Version 2?

You bet all your credits worth.

Let me start by saying that I am very much looking forward to seeing the new site and its design. I am sure alot of hard work has gone into it thus far and will continue to be put into it. I can't wait to see the final outcome live and in action.

As far as the questions on feedback, here is my reply to each, and what I think about them. Their just my opinions though, so take them for what you wish.

    1) Should we have a sub section for Graphic Clans, and if so; what requirements should be set for a clan to get their own forums.

I think it would be a good idea to have a sub section for Graphic Clans on the site. They seem to be a part of the graphic community in some way. I think it would help increase the community size here at the forums. Not that the site needs help in that way, but its always nice to see more active members at the website. For requirements though, they must be strictly a GR clan. Since they will have a sub forum of their own, they shouldn't have an outside forum that draws members away from this website. The leadership of the clan must be clearly defined and be active members of the GR community that actually help and give back to the community here on the forums. They should also have a minimum of about 10 - 15 members in their clan. They also should not be about being the best of the best, that just brings others down. They should be about helping people improve, not just within the clan itself, but outside the clan as well.

    2) If yes to the above, should Clans get their own user groups if they reach a certain amount of active members, or certain other special rights.

I think giving clans that meet certain requirements and a certain amount of active members their own user group is a good idea. But the requirements should again, be something like being actively involved in helping and giving back to the community at GR, while also staying active in their graphics clan and helping the people within it improve. Its like rewarding them for doing a good thing. Positive reinforcement is never bad, as long as the goals being set are realistic and benefical to the community as a whole in some way, shape or form.

    3) What sort of items would you like to see in the store? Be realistic, and think of good prices. Would this item be something you would buy, is it realistic in terms of what GameRenders can offer, etc...

I was shown a bit ago, old links of GR before it was what it is now I believe. Where it had scratch cards in the shop if im not mistaking. If those could be reimplemenated without some how flooding the market with credits, I think that would be a fun way to pull excess credits out of circulation, as well as just make it something interesting to spend credits on. Everyone loves to gamble, the more different ways you offer people a chance to gamble, the more fun it becomes. Also, gambling will, like I said before, help pull some credits out of circulation, so it will in the long run, help make credits more "valuable" to people who give them to others for renders and signatures and what not. I would defienetly spend credits on items like scratch cards.

    4) The current GameRenders forum layout: like it or it needs to be changed? If so, what sort of sections or changes would you like to see.

I like the current GameRenders forum layout. I wouldn't mind seeing subsections for each type of game in the games section, for each game genre perhaps. It would make it easier to find the games you enjoy the most, rather then just every type of game tossed into a forum with tons upon tons of posts. Also for the renders section, I wouldnt mind seeing a seperate section for anime, and maybe even a seperate section for c4d/bryce/3ds max/fractal renders as well since that seems to be making its way into popularity as well. It would make browsing for renders to use in our designs alot easier since we wouldn't have to dig through as many posts in one general section.

    4) Tournaments: Should GameRenders hold monthly, smaller tournaments...or larger tournaments that span over several months?

I think perhaps smaller tournaments, that take place monthly is a better idea then larger ones that span over several months. Odds are, peoples patience will wear thin, and the excitement and enthusiasm for a specific contest will start to wear thin if you drag it out too long. After all, this is the internet, having to wait months for something to finish on the net, generally tends to become boring fast. So by having smaller tournaments that take place monthly, it will help hold interest, it will also provide things for people to do and participate in and you can never go wrong with that. Defienetly having some form of tournaments and contests that involve the community more and offer more, and challenge people is a good idea though. Think outside the realm of signatues though...video game boxes designs, and stuff like that. Creations aside from the idea of signatures, really put peoples imaginations, creativity to the test, make them think outside the box, or in some cases, outside the dimentions of a normal sized signature.

    5) Should GameRender members get a vote in Sig of the Week? If so, how do you think this should be done.

I do think that members of the community should get a vote in the Sig of the Week contest. To make it fair for everyone involved though, you should have a seperate winner, just one, that would be like the peoples choice award sort of thing. It would be the one sig, out of all the sigs that are entered that the people (the community) voted for. As to how you set it up, you could setup a 3rd thread aside from the two that are normally ran with each sotw contest, that is strictly for voting. People get 1 post in that thread, and it contains their vote. They must state why their voting for that person. When the voting period is over, lock the thread, tally the votes and bingo baby we got ourselves a peoples choice!

    6) Are you looking forward to GameRenders Version 2?

All that being said, like I said above, I am really looking forward to seeing the new version of the website. This has been a great community thus far for me to be a part of and the changes I am sure will only make it better.

    • Should we have a sub section for Graphic Clans, and if so; what requirements should be set for a clan to get their own forums.

I think a sub-suction should be made for graphics clans that have been around long enough and have a good ammount of people.I think they should have to have been a know clan for 1-2 months so that they ensure that they aren't going to just dissapear and should have a good reputation (i.e. no large ammount of people dislike them)Also you could possibly have a staff vote or a public vote but only people with a certain rep or posts can vote.

    • If yes to the above, should Clans get their own user groups if they reach a certain amount of active members, or certain other special rights?

I don't think they NEED their own user group and large clans could take awhile to add them all, plus people might be leaving and joining clans all the time so more and more work for the GR mods and admins. So I so it's not a good idea for the user group part unless you plan on having existing or future mods to have the job of constantly updating them. I think the only powers they should get is like moderation to their own clan's forums.
    • What sort of items would you like to see in the store? Be realistic, and think of good prices. Would this item be something you would buy, is it realistic in terms of what GameRenders can offer, etc

Not too many ideas from me here but maybe somthing like gather up a few tutorials from some respectable graphics people that havent been released to the public and sell them in the shop or somthing?IDK about that but its the only thought that I could come up with.
    • The current GameRenders forum layout: like it or it needs to be changed? If so, what sort of sections or changes would you like to see

I think it's fine as is, the marketplace is nicely divided and everything else has a place without being too organized or unorganized.Other than that MAYBE the tutorial part is a bit over divided.
    • Tournaments: Should GameRenders hold monthly, smaller tournaments...or larger, tournaments that span over several months?

I think GR should hold monthly small tournaments, because large ones get a bit unorganized and lose the interest it once had while if there were monthly smaller ones people could look forward to a new tournament soon rather than one in 3 months.
    • Should GameRender members get a vote in Sig of the Week? If so, how do you think this should be done.

I think it may get too complicated but a possible good way to do it is select a group of active members each month who vote giving full explanation why they voted that way their would only be 20-30 voters or however many you choose than like 14,000 voters
    • Are you looking forward to GameRenders Version 2?

Very much :D I've liked GR ever since I joined (no I joined before the date on the left,I forgot usernames , passwords and emails when I moved :P too much time not being on a comp and couldnt recover the old acct) and always look forward to improments in things I enjoy

Well hope someone actually reads this random post and hope it helps you make some decisions to better GR

Graphic clans, I personally don't like... There's enough of individuals here that can create a shop together no?

Forum layout seems fine if not perfect to me.

Tournaments: Very long ones, with enough time to enter a sig (otherwhise you'll get alot of people not entering)

Sotw: Members should get a vote yes, how? I'm thinking... I'm guessing a poll is to big... I'll let you know if I find something

And yes I'm looking forward :D

    * Should we have a sub section for Graphic Clans, and if so; what requirements should be set for a clan to get their own forums.
    No I dont think so

    * What sort of items would you like to see in the store? Be realistic, and think of good prices. Would this item be something you would buy, is it realistic in terms of what GameRenders can offer, etc
all current items but I think items such as title change should be lowered in price.

    * The current GameRenders forum layout: like it or it needs to be changed? If so, what sort of sections or changes would you like to see
    Nope looks fine

    * Tournaments: Should GameRenders hold monthly, smaller tournaments...or larger, tournaments that span over several months?
    Couldnt care less

    * Should GameRender members get a vote in Sig of the Week? If so, how do you think this should be done.
There would be problems with people registering multiple accounts. If it was implemented maybe have only people with 1000+ posts and 30+rep to vote.

    * Are you looking forward to GameRenders Version 2?
    Heck Yes!

I have one suggestion though. I saw a mod for an auction system on ipb 2.x maybe use it for the auction room.

-yes, exist longer than two months would be a good requirement

    * if yes to the above, should Clans get their own user groups if they reach a certain amount of active members, or certain other special rights?

-yes, this should finally spice up clans and gamerenders again, this should give people even more motivation to improve theirselves

    * What sort of items would you like to see in the store? Be realistic, and think of good prices. Would this item be something you would buy, is it realistic in terms of what GameRenders can offer, etc

    -i wouldn't know

    * The current GameRenders forum layout: like it or it needs to be changed? If so, what sort of sections or changes would you like to see

    - no more auction room :P

    * Tournaments: Should GameRenders hold monthly, smaller tournaments...or larger, tournaments that span over several months?

    -large ones

    * Should GameRender members get a vote in Sig of the Week? If so, how do you think this should be done.

    - yes, we should be able to get a vote in the sig of the week, maybe let members post a top three or something, i realise this would be a lot of hard work, but hey a man's got to do what a man's got to do

    * Are you looking forward to GameRenders Version 2?
