whats wrong with just reformatting? it would save you hell of a lotta time and effort. if you dont have an extra hard drive for your personal music etc, get one, but all i say is ---- all that hard stuff and reformat.
bad plan. Windows Updates mostly has a non-working one, or out-dated one... where I work, none of us EVER get driver updates from there. the drivers you get from the mfg's website, or on driverguide.com, is way better than Windows Updates have... Well, john, if you don't have the disc, you can't reformat, can you?
Windows updates worked fine for me when I reformatted. I didn't have any driver cd's as it was a brand name PC, but windows recognised most of the parts and got the right drivers.
ok, Ill Reformat, But, I Havent got most of my CD with utilitys on anymore, They at my Bro house and hes on Holiday Suppose may as well wait until i get my new comp, This ones ancient anyway Windows Update kinda doesnt work for me Driversguide.com grr that site realy, REALY pissed me of with the 1000s of updates then my Validation didnt work and it still says i need Validating
i wont say exactly since its against the rules, but there are more then one way of getting windows besides from going to your local computer store.
