I currently have an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good, budget video card that can work with BF2 while not costing hundreds of $$$$.
(if you need more info i can post more)
    Anyone?

    Thanks

    ultra low end:
radeon 9250 or GeForce 5500(more or less tied)

    low-end
GeForce 6500 or radeon 9550 perhaps... not entirely sure can't tell you haven't looked into this much

    mid-low end:
X800GTO... love how prices came down... great card still
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustRatingRe...N82E16814102691

6600GT (not as good for the $ as x8000GTO)

    mid end
    Geforce 7600
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814150140

    mid-high end
    x1800XT
    GeForce 7900GT

    ultra-high end...

you're being ripped off don't bother... toss two mid-high end cards in sli/crossfire for better results..

if you have an AGP slot though you're pretty much f'ed everything has migrated to PCI-e, best bang/$ AGP cards are...
    radeon 9550, more expensive x800GTO, 6800GS, 7800GS

    ==============================

6200 is absolute ---- don't bother with it. also vram doesn't matter for ---- with this list all to much as all the low cards don't need more than 128megs fo vram to play games at their optimal settings while the higher end ones on'y come in higher verieties...

also the 7300 is ---- too. for about 100 you should be able to get a 6600GT or a 6800... emphasis on the GT part of the 6600, the 6600GT performs more or less identical to the standard 6800.

whats your budget and do you have a PCI-e or a AGP slot?

    run cpuz to determine such

    http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

I can recomend an exact card...

don't give me that ----, the x1000 series performs more or less on par with the 7xxx series excelling in some areas falling in others and when comparing the x800 series to the 6800s it's fairly even as well save for the fact that doom III really didn't like ATis last gen solicon.

actually i know a lot about that game, being the leader of one of the best clans in the game... the game is ment for nvidia cards.. since the 1.2 patch all ATI cards halfed in FPS... their still not able to fix it yet. the X1000 series does work well but i garuntee you that my 6800GS will work identical to an X1800 in bf2, any other game mine would get out-performed but in bf2 no. your best bet for a card is the X800XL refurbished... or the 6800 refurbished.
