I have Verizon DSL and a Linksys router. I used to have Adelphia internet but I switched and now my router doesn't work. I also can't find the startup disc (I don't even know if it came with a start up disc) so now I can only have one computer connected to the internet at once. Am I doing something wrong, should my router work? Should I buy a new router? If so what router should I buy and how much will it cost me (and does it come with a start up disc? )?
The reset button is at the back of the router. Do you have the cat 5 or 6 cable coming from the modem into port 0 on the back of the router? If not connect it to port 0 or the uplink port. Then type this in your IE browser 192.168.1.1, and logon should be admin and password should be blank. If you haven't changed the default login info. That will gain you access to the router. Also go to the linksys website, the instruction manual of your router should be on there as a PDF.
