Well, at the end of the summer I'm gonna have some money, so I decided to upgrade my computer. I'm gonna recycle a lot from my old one, so I figure I just need this to make it a decent gaming computer:

    Processor: AMD Anthlon 3700+
    Motherboard: ASUS A8N-E
    Video Card: EVGA E-GEFORCE 6600GT
    RAM: Corsair Value 1GB 2X512MB
    Case: Xion XION-BK

How long will this computer last me?

Can it play some of the newer games such as CS:S, Guild Wars etc.

And since I'm on a tight budget, is there anything I can do to save some money? Right now all that will cost $800 Canadian with tax. I thought about getting a different case ( that one is $100 ), but it was the only one I could find that had a decent PSU and looked good.

don't bother getting a new case, get an opteron 165 with the cost diference.

6600GT is aceptable, though by summer time you might want to get a 7600GT if prices are down.

also by summer both conroe and AM2 shall be out.

as to how long it will last, probably 1 year if your aim is to play at medium... games get faster all the time.

Well, I could really see my PSU clearly, since it's behind my desk and really dusty, but I could see at the top it said HON-KWANG, and near the bottom it said 120v...is that at all helpful?
