So, I've been gaming for a while but I'm getting sick of constant 30 fps in TF2. (and 40 in CSS)

Here are the specs for my PC. --> http://www.shopping.com/xPF-Desktop-with-I...3-Composer-5200

I'm looking for something that will allow me to play TF2 and CS:S at a more playable framerate.

The one thing I found curious was the fact that the specs on the web said that it was a PCI-E x1 but when I look at the slot, it looks like it's x16.

Here are some pics for reference...

^ This picture clearly looks like what a PCI-E x16 slot looks like on wikipedia. ^

^ This picture is showing my ram slots. ^

    Now, my questions...

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814125089

^ Will this card work in my computer? Should I get it? ^

If you have any other recommendations besides scrap it and start over, I'm all ears. I'm not interested in spending much more money nor am I interested in getting an epic framerate. I just want to not be at a disadvantage because of it.

if you get a new vid card you will probaly need a new power supply also. I read a review saying it comes with a 350w power supply. I checked on about 5 different sites and they all say PCIx1 not PCIx16 which severly limits your choices. If I were you I would just get a new mobo, memory and PSU.

The only question that really needs answering now is will it work with my computer.

Also, Red Alert, did you look at the (crappy) picture I posted of my current GFX card? When I look in the computer it doesn't LOOK like a x1 slot, it looks like a standard x16 according to the pictures on the wiki.

HOW CAN I TELL IF I HAVE AN X16 SLOT?

xlink, do you think/know if it will work with my computer? Is the power supply an issue?

I'd feel more comfortable with the card you posted (xlink) because it doesn't have any reviews about being loud and one person said he got it to work with his dell and 350W power supply. (Which is what Red Alert said I had) Good idea?

    According to GPU-Z it's x16!

    Bus Interface: PCI-E x16 @ x16

Now, is the fact that it's not 2.0 going to be an issue and is power going to be an issue?

couldn't really tell from the picture too blurry around the slot. looked sorta like a pci-e slot though due to proximity to the edge of the board.
