    Ive got 2.6Ghz or so, 120gb HD (80gb and 40gb), 512mb RAM, 512mb GFX thing.. :P

Thats from memory, im not on my PC at the moment, im at my uncles. I thought about it and since i dont play games much, a laptop would be better imo..

2.6ghz can be aweseome, or ----.

    What kinda cpu?
what are you gonna do on the pc if no games? just internet, IM, and photoshop?... another 512mb might be nice for PS but its not really needed i guess...

CPU can be good or bad @ 2.6 Ghz depending if it's an intel or AMD, could use some more RAM than 512, if you get 1 GB you should notice a good speed increase. if you are going to game ect. I recommend an upgrade, if just for IM and stuff, and you want portability than obviously a laptop would be your best bet.

Well its so i can take it to my uncles and go on the internet, I'll probably have MSN, FireFox, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Nero and PSPVideo 9.

Thats just off the top of my head, I wont use it for games since I dont really do that anymore :P

Although, since I get driven to my uncles, I can take my PC in the boot of my dads car :P

get a laptop since its easier to move around with and your not going to be needing it for games.

    2.6GHz doesn't meen ----.

I have a cordless phone which operates at 2.8GHz and it can't boot into windows.

Performance= GHz * work done per GHz.

so a 2.6GHz Core 2 quad is pretty damn good.
    a 2.6GHz celeron D is 1/4th-1/8th the CPU.

I got a 1.66 core 2 duo alienware laptop and man is it awsome.
It will definately be able to do those things and then some. It all depends how much money is being spent. Also if you get out to coffee shops and such very often or if you travel.
