Hello everybody, please take the time to read this carefully as it does affect you.

After some discussion with all the members of staff we have edited some of the Forum Rules.

The points i would urge you to read are the following additions and amendments to the rules:

This rule has received the addition of part ii) which now affects all forums.

This rule has recieved the addition of part ii) which now effects every member on the forum

This rule is new and i advise every member on the forum to study it and to understand what it means... Anyone disobeying this rule will be punished.

    Other Forum Changes:

Credits have been turned off in the following forums:

    Off-Topic
    Latest News
    Problems & Suggestions

We have not decided whether or not this is a permanant change to the forum but the reason for this is to try and tackle the ever going battle of spam.

I thank you for your time, If you have any questions please feel free to pm me.

    BiG_Dave

I can understand to try and control the spam. But turning off credits in general forums is a little harsh for people trying to earn credits to buy things and actually contribute something. Thats just my 2 cents.

Tis all good, stopping cred in general is a little bit of a shock but understandable.
Can you also clarify the asking for rep rule?? Seems everyone is doing it atm

If the referral is not for any companies e.g. free ipods etc. then that is fine as long as it is the only link you have mad mav.

If a mod closes it they should state why it has been closed unless it's obvious. If you notice it's been closed or sorted out or whatever, pm the member of staff you pm'ed in the first place just to let them know they no longer need to sort it out.

The general discussion forum is basically the spam forum, many people have asked for a spam forum with no credits or post gains. In our current general discussion forum, you don't get credits but you get posts stats added on. So basically, if it doesn't tackle the spam it will promote it and this will become clear to us very soon, hence why we said these may not be permanant.

Gibson - 1 word bids are fine, that rule has been there for a while so you should already know that :P

So taking away points in general discussion does what ...takes away spam....you pretty much just let the flood gates open for telling people we don't have to worry about getting in trouble it doesn't count towards our account anywayz.

The main section i actually post in is General Discussion and when i do post its for a topic that is part of "General Discussion. There might be a few spam threads, but thats why we have 6 or 7 moderators whos job is to make sure there isn't any spam.

We need an incentive for posting in the gen discussion though!
Its one of the only places I post, I get a giggle outta letting out ignorant remarks! and I feel I deserve that one credit as doing my deed.
Hell the anti-spam mod back would be better than no credits!
The only reason i've 500 creds is because i'm a genius,,,but thats a different story.
GR's market is a big factor in what keeps it going!
This is a place where people come to trade, this may increase spam in the renders section for creds...people will be desperate without general discussion, true people saying like "cool" or "that is some good ---- right there" is spam but people who have something useful to say deserve something for posting.
I know you're trying to smarten up but wouldnt it be nicer if you made the search button 400pixels bigger and bolder with a big sign beside it saying click here first?
    :)

and bring back the report button
    Its faster.

A question: with the new rules and everything, do we have to get rid of some of the banners we agreed to wear for credits?
