Unusual Gimp Problem [i've Failed...]

As for an update.

I went to a new document, and I had somekind of paintbrush. I was writing in black that faded to white.

I tried opening an image. It STILL didn't work. I even tried dragging one offline. Nothing. It's impossible. For some reason, I'm not allowed to have GIMP.....*cries*

 

Try different images maybe?

 

None work. Tried MANY. Does this happen to you ever?

 

Nope, maybe I can zip my whole gimp folder, host it somewhere (most likely rapidshare) and give you the link?

Gimp sucks. Get Photoshop.

 

I did try reinstalling it, and I don't fell like getting photoshop since you have to pay.....*sigh*

wow this makes me laugh ive downloaded gimp twice cuz i had to wipe my comp partially, never had a prob, when you first download gimp do it through mirors, then after your starting the program for the first time/installing, it aks u what file types u want to assoiciate make sure u have them checked and the guy who said get photoshop gimp sucks your actually wrong, u can do essentially the same stuff in both, just photoshop is a little more extensive in areas, im not close to the best at gimp but ive seen some stuff that looks like it just popped out of photoshop

You ARE right about one thing. I did not assciate any file types. I was told I didn't have to...I'll retry and see what happens.

Sounds like you've downloaded an un-stable version, most people just download it, think it's rubbish and never use it again.

Download the latest STABLE version.

I've done that. Even the page was titled, STABLE VERISON! Lol!
