Unusual Gimp Problem [i've Failed...]

It is unbelievably hard to tell you about what’s happening in GIMP….good thing we can take pics!

So first off, I’ll show you what it looks like.



There it is. Now what happens when I double click it? Watch.



This thing loads for a second. Now look what happens.



Uh oh. Well, I can click that. When I do, a TINY piece of the loading bar loads, and ANOTHER one comes up. Here’s some examples.

This is after one click.



This is after ten.



Now that I’ve drummed on the Enter Button 1000 times (I'm exaggerating...it's only about 999 times....) it FINALLY loads.



Finally, it has loaded.



I can click things from here, I just don’t KNOW how.

Is that how it looks? Any glitches? Why does it do this? What version did I download? Was it the right one? How do I fix it? WHY IS THIS HAPPENING!!!

BTW: I have Gimp and it usually has those popups, but it works 4 me.

 

ROFL! The tip isn't the problem. That goes away. I can navigate fine.

My problem is, WHY does it do that? Does it always do that?

Can I make it NOT do that?

Is this even how GIMP is supposed to look loaded?

 

Well the last pic is correct, gimp comes up like that for me too. When I startup, there is popups as well, dunno why, but Gimp still works perfectly and 100% for me.

 

Mind giving me some begginer tips?

When I go to my pics and open them, it says it doens't recognize the files.

Is that how your supposed to open them? Or do you drag them or something?

Any beginer tips you can think of, or if you can take some screens, I'd appreciate it.

 

Hmm....wot image file types did you choose, cos it cant open some, it does open the basic ones like jpeg, gif, png etc but not psds and such

 

I only tried like 3, but it didn't open any. I'll try again.

 

K, and go to file > open, not open loaction or open recent.

 

Nope. Nothing works. It always says it can't open.

Well, I'm back. Here I go.

First, I'll go to "FILE".



I am now, in the files.



Next, I'll click on my name.



Now, I am in My Pictures.



This is me TRYING to open up a JPG.



It does this with EVERYTHING. Gifs, jpgs, pngs, you name it.

Now what?

 

goto ur gimp folder and try to find that folder see if its in there if not..google that file name dl it and place it where it needs to be

 

Where would my GIMP folder be?

Once I find it, where should I put it?

What needs to be in it???

 

This should be ur gimp folder:

C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0

 

Your saying the dll should be in there?
