Sounds good, pity i'm too poor. Broken Hosting. That name cracks me up. Merged Post: Its File Transfer Protocol Basically, its like a space on the net for you, to upload what you wish. Like websites, files, images, porn, warez Very useful. All you need is an ftp client and login with the details you get, and its basically just drag and drop, for the average user.
Too bad you didnt have this sooner and could have switched my "sinfulsurf" FTP hosting over to it. Oh well.
Just so everyone knows come another day or two im going to be having a full file hosting script with unlimited space and bandwith for premium users only here at gamerenders.com. Also, I will be setting up subdomains at my website for all premium members that PM me after my topic that I will post in probably a day or two with unlimited bandwith and more than enough space for anyone to use. Ya, thats why I didnt post this in the marketplace, the premium members section isn't as big as the regular members, not trying to take anything from him, just for those who cant afford it know that they can have an alternative. Im just not in it for the credits or rep or anything, i just have nothing better to spend my web space/bandwith on so i figured id lend it out to the premium members at gamerenders.com. However, if you disagree with this its a simple solution, ill just host other websites. Im sure the premium members will be happy that they didnt get free webhosting because a few others who may have paid for service didnt want it out there because they are mad they paid for the same thing. *sarcasm* The only reason I am ONLY DOING THIS FOR GAMERENDERS.COM is because it is a great community and I have gotten a lot out of it unlike most other graphics communities. Besides, I'm not truly taking too much business from him, the premium members are only equal to 900-950, whereas the regular members are 45300-45350. Also, there are 2 functions I'm donating to this whole thing. The first being 100% public as I am not about to implement a username/password function for something like this and its not extremely important that it remains private as it will be maintained by myself and possibly the GR staff if they would like to, to assure no innappropriate files will be uploaded like corrupt .exes and illegal files such as pirated software and pornography. The 2 services I am offering are below. 1) An overall hosting script such as rapidshare.de, megaupload, etc. that will allow unlimited size file uploads as well as numerous uploads and the links will be presented at the bottom as a shared file system. Also you are not limited to file types. The gamerenders.com mods will be given an FTP access to where these files are stored to insure that anything uploaded is "decent" as in no porno, no illegal files, etc. as I will be looking through the files on a regular basis personally, but I would like to give the mods the ability to delete something from a complaint from a member or something if they need to at THAT time and without wait (as I am obviously not available 24/7 to this website). My hope is this is a file where GR.com members will be happy to upload things to help the general community and have all these files be uploaded in 1 place. This will only be released to premium members by myself, but as with everything, eventually it will reach the public (unless you all decide to not give it out to anyone that I dont give it out to). 2) A private subdomain and FTP access with unlimited MySQL databases, cPanel and Fantastico scripts. I think for $5 you should get a bit more than the website gives you, so im contributing things that if the site wants to they may include in the premium purchase and I will host them if they ask for it. I just figured if a premium member paid $5 for a premium membership, they dont get too incredibly much from this website, so it may also help the community. My interests were in that of the community, not of a sole person such as BrokenFaith, so you must recognize im not trying to steal business, just to give something back to the community . However as this is a recent development (such as in about 2 weeks ago) I havnt had the time to post the script link up yet as I am still working on the .php for it (the first one, that is). I just didnt want people to pay for something just to find later they could have gotten the same thing or more for free... sorry if you feel my interest is displaced.
