    I'm downloading Ubuntu right now.

I have Xp on my computer and I don't want to take it off or delete any files. I then want to install Ubuntu on the same hard drive, partition it. So I can boot either Xp or Ubuntu.

So when I do the installation does it give me an option to partition it without wiping the other stuff off?

If not how do I do it?

    Thanks,

it should give you a live CD enviroment.

run gparted and partition the drive through that.
