It's a defunct system, so why not use this as an opportunity to do a live test on one of our newer missile systems that are relatively untested? I see it as a chance for the U.S. to flex those military muscles again for the world to see. Been awhile wince we've been able to do that.

The satellite is currently orbiting at... Altitude [km]: 274.26 Altitude [miles]: 170.04 Given the fact that the rocket fuel is highly reactive it could very well explode upon re-entry, thus rendering it harmless. Or the thing could just crash into earth and the toxic Hydrazine could be spread out over a small area, affecting the area's population.
