Turning Avi Films Into Smaller Files

    i made a movie with camera, blah blah, turned it to a .avi file, now its to big to fit onto a disk, i need it to go to a smaller size,any ideas on what i can do?

    convert to mpeg, the file size will be reduced alot

    Convert to MPEG. Then open in windows movie maker and save it as whatever type you wont and it will be aLOT smaller. Ive done a 90mb clip then saved and it was 4mb. No rep or creds needed. Just happy to help out :D

    is there anyprograms i can use to convert them, or can i just do it in the propertys window?

    A VERY good program is called VirtualDub. I can turn a 200 MB .avi into about a 3-5 mb one.

    I would use WinMpg Video convert it has amazing compression and allows you to save your files to any file type Mpeg, Vob (Dvd) whatever have a look.

    cucusoft is a good software or virtualdub both work on what you need
    but you need to convert it to mpeg to make it smaller
